Excellent concept and vision. After watching this video would surely like to experience sadhana forest first hand and see how i can contribute to the project and also spread the ideas in my own capacities
I'm planning on checking this place out in 2020...quite possibly stay there until I pass on from this Earth, since I haven't come across much better in terms of vegan-substance free service focused intentional communities. Warm climate, affordable, large amount of folks to connect with, AuroVille close by to plug into as well....on balance pretty dang solid.
@@wertzui995 Well, the volunteers choose their term of stay. I know people who've been there for years and don't wish to leave. So it's totally up to you.
@@SmritiThakur143 hello , smiriti. Since you know people that live there can you share some insights about how much is living cost for one month and is the person supposed to keep paying if the stay is extended ( while volunteering)?
I have been to Auroville, the sad part is,it needs foreigners and volunteers to revive India, while Indians are having a bash of a time destroying the environment.
Haribol Aviram, Rasika here. Just been watching all your videos. Would be nice to see an updated video, why? Because I'd like to see more about your goshala and cow protection. I'm living here now more permanently, will pop in soon for a lunch and visit to your goshala. Hare Krsna 🙏🙏🙏
without walls and doors, it is ok in good weather , but how do you manage in monsoon season ? the body suffers by being exposed to humidity day and night for a month or more ....
There is a lot of raw vegan food in Auroville. Where do the raw vegans get their B12-vitamin and protein? Vegans get normally their B12-vitamin from pills or supplemented plant milk. Vegans get protein from grain, beans, nuts and seeds. Beans must be soaked and cooked. They can't be eaten raw except peas. Soy bean is the best protein source. There is a tofu factory in Auroville. Do raw vegans eat tofu? Maybe I'm coming to Auroville and Sadhana forest next winter. The tourist visa should first be valid longer that one month.
If the guy making rubber tires sculptures is allowed to use electric tool, why are the girls hauling those heavy water jugs by hand? Why can’t they use water pumps and hoses to water the forest?
Because the rubber tyre sculptures is his personal project. And they're watering the forest by hand because, as mentioned in the documentary, they have a process (drip irrigation). They don't just mindlessly hose the forest.
Smriti Thakur anyways I fail to follow the utility or necessity of this much hard manual labor. Drip irrigation can very well be made at least by hand holding a hose
@@sunlit777 What would the hose be attached to? Sadhana forest is created on an arid land where, as they mentioned in the docu, water doesn't seep into the soil easily and runs off further eroding the soil. So they have made man-made water preservation bunds and dams to conserve water and prevent run off. The water is stored away from the forest and has to be manually carried to the forest to water it. Where does the hose come in here?
Smriti Thakur the hose could be attached to a water tank on a cart. Water tank on an electric vehicle. Best of all directly connected to a water well. Why waste so much time to prehistoric manual methods?

it's not really place to stay long term. it's entirely volunteers that come and go

Why do they have to go to India to do this? There are plenty of places in the Western world that need to be restored too.

@@sunlit777 slow living. They dedicate their time only to the forest and other activities within it. So it's not a waste of anybody's time.
