It’s addicting. I worked on a floor with 350 traders and it was the craziest thing I have ever experienced
Some people thrive in chaotic, conflict driven and stressful environments. They love it. In the show Harper even mentioned to Eric he liked the stressfulness of investment banking. It just depends on your personality. Others prefer jobs like librarian which is relatively quiet and peaceful and the environment is mostly positive.

The toxic behaviour is well portrayed here but there wouldn't be this kind of banter breaking out on the floor itself. He's just pissed that everyone came back to the office and she didn't. Don't blame that on her, blame it on HR. Having said that I have been around this industry and it is not for everyone, myself included.

She's was out of office then she comes back and tries to steal a colleagues client.
So the show is in real time - she kept WFH (when really she was in a hotel suite paid for by her MD ie. The Asian guy) whlist everyone came back into the office.

12 hr days is merely a 60 hr week. 80-100hr work weeks aren't rare in my region. I'm sure the productivity gains at the margin are in the negatives, but the hours spent in the office are real, and have been for decades.
