- The Minnesota Timberwolves stunned the reigning champion Denver Nuggets with a 98-90 Game 7 win. Anthony Edwards put up just 16 points but led the Wolves (with Jaden McDaniels) defensively to slow down the Nuggets' offense despite Nikola Jokić scoring 34 points. The reason why they had KAT guarding Joker is because Rudy can protect the rim and be the last line of defense against anyone trying to attack it from Joker's pass. Joker is their offensive facilitator, so he is not always under the rim. KAT can follow him all over the court and not worry about the drives because Rudy is there. Additionally, Gordon can't shoot the three that well, so Rudy doesn't need to worry about him and can stay by the post protecting the rim. Understand now, Shay? You should stick with football, bro.🤣

I can't remember seeing a player get double & triple teamed from jump ball til the end of the game the way Denver did Ant Man. Even Jordan and Kobe had room to operate at some point throughout the game. That tells you how much respect and FEAR Denver had for Ant Man.
Disappointed with Denver. They choked. When you have the best player on the floor in a Game 7, you should NEVER lose. Period. That's the standard that previous best players have been held to. Jokic doesn't get to escape that criticism

So many of these national pundits don’t really watch the Timberwolves or understand the team. Sure, plenty of props from these folks but they still casting shadows on Rudy Gobert. Gobert is a plus 10 during the game. KAT was Jokers primary defender to allow Rudy to be roaming defender under the rim to keep anyone from driving to the basket. KAT played great defense but Gobert did as well because they played the defensive scheme. Nobody talks about Jaden McDaniel’s who scored 23 the last two games and shut down Porter. Ant smothered Murry and let the Nuggets EXHAUSTED! This was the BEST TEAM DEFENSE which is why the Wolves won. I love Ant and he deserves lots of credit for understanding it’s not his night and instead finding his teammates and TRUSTING them. The WOLVES are a TEAM!

When you look at it jokic always cooks centers who are flat footed even more, jokic can really cook any position in the NBA but for some odd reason we seen it a few times now with athletic and mobile bigs he struggles a bit less, Dwight and Naz Reid and KAT weren't able to stop him but definitely slow him down a bit. Enough to help there team win,

The Wolves have depth and it really shows in the defense. They played different against Denver than against Phoenix. Against Phoenix Alexander-Walker got alot more minutes to give them more perimeter defense. Against Denver KAT's minutes were higher as he was the primary defender on Jokic. Against Dallas I see Finch and Co going back to a defense more like what they did against Phoenix.

Why did Joker beat up Gobert this game and this series? I'm gonna say it's because Joker has so much mass to boss him around. And Gobert had so many fouls to give in Game 7 that allowed KAT time to sit when he was in foul trouble. Without Gobert, KAT fouls out early, and Nuggets win.

The talent in the NBA is at an all time high especially in the Western conference. There's a high chance that there's gonna be two or three different teams in the playoffs next season. Memphis, San Antonio, Houston... You just never know who's gonna fall and drop out of the playoffs.

Nuggets will be alright, MPJ had a bad series, but he's only 25, and he's been going through a lot with his brothers off the court. He still has room to improve, so that's a positive going forward. Nuggets just really need to reload that bench and give the younger boys more playing time. They'll be back next season and more hungrier.

No one is calling out their biggest issue of giving away games. They let lakers get up every game they just don’t have a closer. Then immediately gave up 2 games to the wolves. You just can’t do that in this league.

The difference to me in this game and the series is this...Jokic is not a two-way player. He's great offensively but that's it. The Twolves have several two-way players that can score AND play elite level team defense. Edwards is as good off the ball as he is with it. Over a 7 game series Denver couldn't overcome the ability of the Wolves to take games over through their defense which is a catalyst for their offense.
I’m with Joy…amazing performance by the young Wolves! The young Wolves showed that, not only are they talented, but they are in tremendous physical shape..that high altitude in Denver is a factor. Nuggets were more gassed at the end of game 7 than the Wolves.
I think the loss in fear factor is a great argument against the nuggets because I think it showed all you have to do is play physical & they get just a little more rattled & lose their swagger.
I felt like kyrie almost shot the mavs out of that game. Scored 22 points on 23 shots, 9/23 and took 19 shots in second half while Luka was finally having a good game 9/15 and 4/6. Pass the ball instead of going 1 on 4 kyrie.
