The one thing to add is that code on the tongue.. some shoes, depending on the size, that code is stitched over and you have to view it from the back, if that makes sense. I was worried until another video I watched showed this, double checked mine, basically pulling that stitched part on the tongue out, and saw the code. Hope this helps, hard to explain, easier to just show.

Unfortunately due to the lack of quality control on the Travis Scott 1’s , even some legit pairs will fail legit checks solely based on
1- fakes are getting better
2 - lack of consistency with the real pairs
3 - not every legit check will be 100% correct every time

@@SneakerHuddle it's the new GT Batch with fixed 3M placement, fixed suede color, it's more of a coffee color now. I even did your black light test and couldn't find anything different. I wanted to see just how good they were so I took them to a consignment shop and he made an offer. I declined obviously. But it's scary how close these things are. Especially with that dude who sent in 100 pairs of reps to stockx abd 88 were accepted. I'm completely against the selling of reps as real. I enjoy it as a means of personal expression.

Legit checking is a set of standards set by humans! With sneakers being already inconsistent, how can one really authenticate sneakers?
My Stock X pair passes everything except that the stitching on the left tongue goes a little bit into the Cactus Jack patch. I was trippin at first but then I checked my Cousin’s SNKRS app pair and his does the same. Just wanted to point this out in case someone else was stressing.

Bad video man you should be comparing shoe for shoe and I know you have another one that explains shoe for shoe, but the authentication process is not as expensive as you’re talking about. What you do is you buy from an authorized retailer of the shoe in the United States, not from overseas, with an guaranteed authenticated tag that comes with the shoe, that’s how you know that you’re getting a real pair of Air Jordan 1.💯💯👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

One year later I bought them and used this video to confirm they are authentic. Greatest pair of sneakers I ever owned these are a grail 🔥
I got a really good UA and a Pair from StockX and compared the two. The TL;DR -> There would be no way to tell on foot the fake from the real, and it is hard to tell if one is real without comparing it to a real one. But comparing your pair to a known real one is the best way.
Here are specifics what I found with respect to what you've said:
1. The box is slightly off on the UA pair. The price tag is there on both so not really telling.
2. The stamp can appear anywhere on the lid. The pair I got from StockX wasn't near the Nike Swoosh but is faint and on the box in the far right.
3. Regarding step 3, Codes were on both
4. On step 4, the Wings Logo placement isn't consistent by size - it scales up for example on my size 13. I found the pair on the real pair slightly more glossy.
5. The UA pair I have has mimicked that brown stitching, and on both pairs, it's really damn close to the sail part
6 Regarding the tongue, both stitchings stop before the cactus jack logo. On the StockX pair, the thumb space on the tongue is a bit fatter
7. Both of mine have inconsistent paint.
8. Both lean.
9. Damn, I have no black light to test things.
BTW, a few other things I noticed when literally side by side is
- The mocha material on the StockX pair is a bit ashier and feels a bit longer haired.
- The actual StockX pair had a smell stronger than the UA pair! I was worried, but I know a few people who got directly from Nike and their pair had a strong smell, so I'm not buying the smell test someone mentioned below. Heck, the UA pair I have smells amazing.
- The texture on the sail leather of the UA pair is slightly different but impossible to really effectively describe the difference.
I am strongly considering rocking my UA pair and preserving my real pair. I have gotten to a point where IDGAF that if this UA pair is that damn good, I'll stunt. To each his own, but as long as people aren't trying to sell fakes the UAs are impressive on the Travis.
Final NOTE: I would only recommend people who are willing to pay resale, to only do so through something like StockX or Goat because it's too easy to get got out here with these UAs... or you'll always wonder. Why not pay extra for a piece of mind?

I have learned a lot from the UA market though. I honestly would not be afraid that Goat or StockX would send a fake because they have seen tons and tons of sneakers. The China factories got these really close but still hand in hand you can just feel the differences. I have gotten top shelf UA OW UNC and own the real pair and it’s a similar deal where the UAs are just not quite as right but you could never tell on foot. Whereas the Union UAs just never seem to get the swoosh right so it’s obvious from pics looking on eBay lots of people are trying to pass off fakes as real. Those services likely have real pairs for authenticators to compare just to maintain the repatriation and integrity of their service.
Also regarding UAs there are something like 3 to 5 major factories that do UAs and compete against each other, so it’s less about what rep you buy from and which factory got it closest. I’d be surprised they would ever nail this one shoe. Whereas they have nailed Yeezy 350s like crazy.
Also remember these factories to be cost economic product shoes in volume so they don’t do too many iterations on a shoe. They just got this one better due to processes just getting better and inconsistencies on this particular shoe. I expect it more colorways drop this Travis style will improve even more over time.

I really like your videos JR, however all sneakers aren't made the same. Authenticity is truly opinion based. Stock x, Goat, Flight Club, Stadium Goods, and .most of these retail stores have and have been known to sell sneakers with flaws in them. However, that doesn't make the shoes fake. I'm glad you said the box and stamp doesn't mean a shoe authentic. A shoe is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.
Eugene Smith the 10 steps are just good signs if they pass all that’s all the shoe steps are more important the box steps.... most important is sole test there is no way that will ever be wrong and the black light test for the shoes sole tongue and insole

Mine failed the box test with the code under the logo. It also failed the code on the tongue which it does not have on both. It also has a 270 (2.5) circle on the insole and the stitching around the insole looks alittle messy. Everything else it passed.

Fakes are getting better and better nowadays. Love the Jordan shoes. However, I don’t like the Travis Scott design, although I did send this vid to my friend. He checked it out on his UA Scott’s and he passed. Even the black light test. Those 1/1 reps are becoming a very real thing, which is amazing and yet scary at the same time.

Picked up a pair on StockX….missing code on box and tongue tag. 2 bags of pink laces, missing cream laces and also detached from shoe. No cardboard shoe horn. Damaged box. The sole level is also the same on both shoes, left and right rock back. Super disappointed

this are the iffiest shoes to authenticate.... and it sucks cause most people will agree these were the most wanted / influential shoes of last year. I wouldn't get these from resellers asking crazy amounts of cash. stockX got tons of fake pairs that passed as legits as well.

I also have two pairs. One from UK, and one from the US... They both react differently under blacklight... The stitching in the midsole never glowed for either pair... However, the Tongue Tag and Midsole on the pair from the US glowed, while the pair from the UK didn’t... The insole on the UK pair also glowed, while the US pair didn’t...

Hello, please answer me this my pair I got from stockx as well about a year and a half ago. Now I noticed when you did your black light test on the sole there was no markings of invisible paint that other people say. Mine is exactly like yours without the paint is it that stockx has all the pairs with out the invisible paint or they fake? Because I know my Jordan 1’s and I know shape tag feel an mine seem legit as fuck but I can’t explain why mine don’t have the invisible authentication paint on the sole like a lot of others. But mine is exactly like yours. Did Nike send stockx a batch to sell for them or something where they skipped the invisible paint marking. I been to shops as well comparing them next to real one with paint and they identical. But the no paint on mine is killing me. People that don’t know Jordan’s keep telling me they fake but shit I know these feel and look exactly like the ones with paint they just don’t is there like europ did. It come with it like yours? Or can you explain to me anything or are they fake ? But if mine are fake that means yours got to be fake as well because yours don’t have the paint markings on the sole?
Mine has the marking on the midsole as shown with the black light and thats just from the mixture of poly in the factory its possible your mix of poly could not have it. Honestly the easiest way to tell is check the suede quality and also I did a comparison to real vs fake check it out.
