It's great that he's bringing vintage into the modern era. It begs the question, why did these styles from the past have to go out of style in the first place?
I think because as time passed, people think that things from the past take a long time to be prepared/done, hence people prefer something more efficient. The corsets, the layers, maybe people thought they're overwhelming, so when there's an innovation of styles that are easier, cheaper, yet good, the old styles begun to be forgotten
The same reason why modern tech is taking over more and more. It makes things easier and more convenient. Watch the channel Gentlement's Gazette. They explain exactly why we wear what we do now.
In fact, I think that the Victorian area had just as many tech advancements, but after seeing quite a few of them in literature and elsewhere, I appreciate tech now as it's much safer, generally. There were people selling literally anything they could and make wild claims about it. The term snake oil comes from this era.
@@SirenaWF1 You make a good point. Also, thanks for recommending Gentleman's Gazette. They offer a lot of good styling tips for men, and I could definitely use some help in that department.😆
I am starting to do this as well. I can't entirely live in the Victorian Period because its not really feasible for me to do that with my situation, but I have four Victorian dresses and various accessories that I love to wear. I would love to meet this guy and have chats. He lives in my city too!
Oh GOSH! He is SOOOO handsome!! I love that era to - but don’t live in it the same way. I collect Victorian photos - and this is one of the reasons; all the people look immaculate, and if you ever purchase any antiques from the Victorian era, they were surely built to last. We’re still using many roads, sewers, bridges etc. that were built and designed in that period, and so I understand Michael completely. PLEASE marry me and I would obey you in every way like a good Victorian wife! 🙂
He is ukrainian. I was in the centre of Odessa and Krivoj Rog and being like him there is the normality. Victorian age clothes make him super handsome. His brother is not handsome like him. He looks like Turkish or from Kosovo.
More and more people are discovering that the way our parents lived isn't the way they want to. Our goals are going from making more and more money to having less and less to make us happy.
I don’t know. I love the style too and the whole flare of it but our modern medicines system some features of the digital age. I don’t think I would want to miss that.
My Grandmother who died at 100 in the 1980s said that there was Nothing Good about the Good Old Days ! Everyone worked (except the very rich) from the second you got up in the morning until the moment you went to bed at night !
theres a whole group of people called hostory boundrs who dress historically. it takes a lot of research and dedication and each decade in victorian times have different trends and silluetes
I bought myself a bowler hat the other day and started wearing it. When I wear it with my thick black coat I do feel a little like from a Charles Dickens novel or from Oliver Twist. I wear tweed waistcoats and blazers with jeans and loafers and mix it up when I go out.
I found the video and the gentleman in question both fascinating and tasteful. He is himself and so fulfilled , plus talented .May his dream come true . Michael I was born in Manchester .When ever possible I fly there once a year to stay in Castlefield and film .It would be wonderful to interview you .Maybe you could sketch me when I meet the Canada Geese. ( they have been in UK since the 17th century ) Fabulous attire and all that matters is how you feel .. My Greetings to Manchester .Best wishes from Berlin , Helena :)
Absolutely love his honest, blatant smile while speaking of one of my most favorite times in the past!!!!! I'd totally would require his services should I was a real important Lord of Lands!!!!! You're an inspiration, dear good gentleman!!!!! All my best wishes for you, your Life, and your career!!!!!! Congratulations for dreaming so hard into realization!!!!! Again, quite a multiple inspiration!!!!!
I lived a very similar lifestyle for many many years. More like the 1920s I suppose I wore a tie, waistcoat and flat cap every day (Along with cufflinks and pocket watch)… I lived in a brick Victorian house on a dirt road and had horses and carriages and a 1929 old model a Ford. Although I did have electricity and all the modern conveniences in the house, I did not have a television and I did have a wind up gramophone and a baby grand piano. My life was heavenly and I enjoyed it very much, but I’m also big believer and living life and chapters and so after a while, I tired of all the work on the farm and the cold winters and move south, where I happily live in modern era… although my house is still like a museum and I always have 1 foot in the past )
Always loved this time period and long to do the same . It’s quiet…peaceful….eloquent. I applaud this gentleman and others who live like this. Why these styles went out of style I will never know. 😮❤❤❤ They need to come back…
My dearest if you're still single please marry me. You can paint whilst I play the violin or perhaps the piano. We can have our own afternoon tea. Sadly, I'm miles away.
However, for temporary experience of the bottom of Victorian economy & society, see Absolute History s time travel back to various lower paid workers situations in modern simulate tions---- both ironically amusing & shocking.
He's simply being authentic and having the courage to do what he loves regardless of what the rest of us think of it.
Authentic? Hmmmmm.

When his grandparents visit, they feel like they are visiting their grandparents
more like great-great grandparents
I love the way he embraces life - and it's wonderful to know that I am not alone with this kind of style ;-)
Same it is my favourite era the victorian and edwardian era

I myself would love to live in the Victorian era as well.
I love it 💞 💞 💞
I wish, there were a little town, where people live like in the victorian age. I would love to move there ❤️
There are a lot actually
More and more people are discovering that the way our parents lived isn't the way they want to. Our goals are going from making more and more money to having less and less to make us happy.
Same either victorian or edwardian town
There are many towns and villages which where you feel like you have moved back 20, 30 to 40 years.
@@singletotakentv9583 can you list some?
I would love to go back into the Victorian times
I don’t know. I love the style too and the whole flare of it but our modern medicines system some features of the digital age. I don’t think I would want to miss that.
I wish I could live like that. It just takes a lot of money to get a new wardrobe, a set of everyday tools, and furniture.

A top hat and cape for clothes shopping is a little over the top, maybe for the opera. But I must say I do get it.
Absolutely fantastic!! 😊 It’s so great that he’s embracing everything he wants to!
Michael doesn't do victorian style anymore but he's still a great guy with taste and I think he still accepts commisions.
Wdym?

The cape with the reddish interior makes him look like a magician.

Absolutely live all of his life, thoughts and agree whole heartedly. I hope he still is committed. This was a pleasure. In Joy
He looks more like a magician

This is excellent.
I try and live a gothic Victorian lifestyle so seeing someone else living this lifestyle and loving it just makes me so happy 🥺🖤.
Great video I enjoyed it 👍😀 living like the 19th century very interesting my great great grandfather dressed like that 😀 😀
Where can I find those kind of fashion clothing? I want to dress the same
Go for it!

I also live in the past
That's so cool
Oh, I live in Victorian era too.
Sadly, he's given up the Victorian thing. You can google his name to learn more.
Oh my gosh, he totally sold out.
He looks like a fucking Jonas Brother now. Super hot. He still dresses sharp in suits and all that and he still paints though.
He needs a Wife ! and lots of Children !

Cool
This is interesting! however how would he communicate without phone or email to family and friends or doctor and dentist?
oh he is cute
Because 2022 sucks.
