personally i definitely prefer the route of just choosing the most batshit or chunky path over the wheel, just feels like the wheel could lead to missing out on some more interesting routes
But the wheel provides the funny RNG factor

The wheel is neat but I think you should override it when you want.
There’s not point in missing out on a cool focus just for the sake of variety.
I don't think the wheel is that great of an idea. Kaiserredux just works differently than the base game. And also I GUARANTEE you every ideology gets it's interesting paths. So it's better if you take the Kaiserredux exclusive and most interesting paths and not spin a wheel. I enjoy you going in and doing what's interesting without planning ahead.
If you like interesting Hoi4 playthroughs I highly recommend Swinceball, he made a couple series involving a wheel and vote system for branching focuses, he would take the percentage from the posts and plug them into a wheel and then spin it, so let's say 25% vote to invade Yugoslavia and 75% vote to ally Yugoslavia when playing as Italy, he would make a wheel that is 75% Alky, and 25% Invade, then it would land on whatever and he would choose that focus. Very interesting way to progress the story, I highly recommend.

When you get to Malta, they don't have a focus tree, but they do have events.
They do it’s just very short and it will go back to the generic focus tree

Personally I would just prefer the largest path or the most schizophrenic path to be taken. If there are equally schizo paths, maybe use the wheel then. As an example, let's use Russia. Russia has like 8 different schizo paths, so I would like the wheel to be spun between them. Using this system would get variance (because the Schizo paths are everything from Illegalism to Esoteric Aryanism) while still showcasing how insane KX can be. My worry about the current system is that it will lead to just playing vanilla Kaiserreich content in the KX world. Like landing on the Commune of France and just doing a regular playthrough instead of the Sorelians or Nestor Makhno.
TL;DR - I think you should spin between the wackier KX exclusive paths to avoid doing the boring KR stuff.

Honestly Stak, your content is best when you choose the most outlandish and wild path possible. Play what you enjoy because we are here for you and your interaction with the game, if people want to see “other” sides of the focus tree they can download the mod themselves!
Yeah, I think it would be quite fun with the wheel. Though with some like Ireland or Union of Britain you focus on a specific path.

Criticism: I think wheel is not a bad idea but is not usable for so many countries after all enjoyable content is most important thing. you see absolute Autocratic paths for Persia and Najd are way better ones in fact in the case of Persia even with partial autocratic system is not As good & makes no sense (gameplay) it is true for Napoleonic France as well, other paths are not as good at all not even near it. so I think the wheel is better for generic or almost equal paths 2-use country's leader's image for the video like Red hawk videos which is better in Hoi4 after all the leader's portrait is just over there it is way better then use Arab for a Turkic nation 3-just one Kaiserredux video per week is way a few after all apparently you want play as formable nations as well, 2 videos per week because I love it.
I honestly would recommend playing with Landlord for small nations, so you can core the populations you conquer - it would make these smaller nations just that much less painful.

I agree with the people saying to override it where obvious - like not every country is going to have equally interesting routes within those umbrellas, if the wheel chooses the most boring or one that doesn't exist I think free choice, or maybe Gabby's choice, would be best.

As someone who did make a comment about you always doing the nationalist routes, I do like the wheel! But I also enjoy when you just do what you want, so perhaps the green/blank spots instead of doing a re-spin of the wheel, that means you just get to play it by ear and go down whatever path you feel like doing? That way while sometimes you go by the wheel, there's that element of still getting to do whatever content you want and not be limited! I think that would be a good balance between.

I think a modified wheel could work. You’d need to research the focus trees a little and make sure they’re worth doing, and add all the good ones onto the wheel. This could ensure you don’t end up with the worst options while still adding chance
I say no wheel. Just do whatever path seems most interesting and if you think they are getting repetitive, mix it up.

I like both, mostly because I get batshit insanely stoned before I watch the videos,
but maybe a recommendation if its not rude; a console command after the whole game building up, against the world power, to show that your playing tall was like, skillful, just if you arent in a big all out war in the game already? It's somewhat hard to visualize your growth otherwise, and it could be a way to keep the wheel AND make democratic a fun political party to play as, given that they focus mostly on defense and civilian economy buildup as a political party at least in vanilla.
Of course if you want to keep going whatever is most crazy or war filled instead and drop the wheel entirely, and want my opinion between them both instead, I'd say the most alternative history path/in game unlikely is preferred over the most war filled game. I'd rather see an ethiopian second papacy taking holy-land even though its less than an ethiopian africa unification, especially cuz taking the holy sites back would force the effective use all 3 military branches to succeed. Once again, I'm only saying what I prefer, please dont take it like im stating fact.

Just use the wheel when you play a faction that doesnt have anything to interesting or use it when there are so many good options that it really doesnt matter all that much

Honestly, the wheel is a terrible idea because there is a solid chance it will result in a path with a bad focus tree or no focus tree at all. That wouldn't make the most interesting videos....
I kind of enjoy the idea of the wheel. Trying to hold together an absolutely insane country could lead to things being just as interesting as going all out
I mean if there's only 4 base choices than logically 1/4 playthroughs would be any given one.
You should just follow the path that is most enjoyable for you. We will enjoy it regardless
