I wanted to do a fusion of an orchid mantis and a flower mantis for my Bug Girl, really just to embody all mantis that camouflage - and what better floral camo than a lolita! 🥰

I came from Enchanterium because your mantis looked so interesting! When you were talking about wanting to have her eyes half closed, my first thought was that it might not suit the concept of a mantis. But then I understood why you did this. Because there’s a very thin line between making a bugeyed creepy/horror insect and a cute flowery one. So I think you did the right choice there. Good job!! ❤

The corrects terms for multiple species is 'mantids' :D shes absolutely gorgeous btw! Did you know that mantids are a lot like cats? They clean their 'paws' with their mouth and rub their faces with them, just like cats! Coupled with their big expressive eyes, i think theyre just too cute ^^ if you like orchid mantids, id say take a look at conehead mantids as well! Theyre so alien looking, its gorgeous and bizzare all at the same time❤️

I’d call her style of lolita either Country Lolita or Hime Lolita, not Sweet. If you want to find further inspiration or references in a similar style, those terms will get you a lot further! Country is my favorite, so you’ve got great taste lol

Also, I really appreciate that the video is on the longer side, some people who customize dolls make their videos around 15-20 minutes and imo that’s not enough time. Your doll turned out SO PRETTY!! Omg I love her!!! Unpopular opinion but I LOVE bugs. I was actually going to go into entomology (or neuropsychology) but chose arts lol. I wasn’t subscribed for some reason but I literally GASPED when I saw her in the other channel’s photo. You did an AMAZING job. Can I offer a tip? From artist to artist. When working with contrasting colors (opposite on the color wheel) like red and green or orange and blue etc try working one color at the time and seal your work before changing the color instead of letting them mix so they don’t turn muddy. When colors are next to each other on the wheel there’s not much of a problem, you’d just get a gradient. With contrasting colors any mixing will muddy your palette. If you DO want to blend them I’d recommend an intermediate color (like yellow for reds and green) to smooth the transition. This is just a recommendation of course, I think you managed BEAUTIFULLY and I love everything about this custom, just thought I’d make your life a little easier for the future ;)

Haha, I'd totally forgotten they were in the shot! 😳☺️ I'm a horror/historical fiction writer, and I'm currently writing a gothic horror trilogy set in the victorian era where they have an unwrapping party of an Egyptian mummy and get much more than they bargained for 😈
Book 2 is set in the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt, so I've fallen down the research rabbit hole and totally fallen in love with ancient Egypt ☺️
I have those canopic jars (im going to sculpt little organs to go inside when i make a doll if the goddess Sekhmet), crystal obelisk & pyramids, and a crocheted mummy 🥰
My doll customizing desk also doubles as my writing desk, so I collect little bits and bobs to inspire me to write 🥰

I love my monitor stand >///< I haven't really had any issues with it regarding weight 🤔 it is made out of a kind of foam/foam board which is quite lightweight, but it's certainly not flimsy ☺️ I'd recommend it! I think I got it off Aliexpress 🙂
