“‘Abode Of The Perfect Soul’ touches on another step in the transformation of the disciples and their crossing to their deities' realm, which leads them to both their death and their rebirth. It is probably one of the heavier tracks on the album, yet it is one of the most multifaceted songs we have ever written with many changes of scenes and vibes. We feel it crystallizes where DVNE is musically right now.” - Victor Vicart
Victor Vicart: Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals
Allan Paterson: Guitar, Bass
Dudley Tait: Drums
Daniel Barter: Vocals
Maxime Keller: Keyboards, Vocals
Voidkind succeeds in finding new modes of expression for the five-piece. The songs are more pointed, direct, and memorable, yet the soundscapes retain the radiant, evolving, and hypnotic flow, the effect achieved with fewer layers of sonic ornamentation, consciously urging closer to DVNE’s incendiary live sound. And despite the addition of a full-time keyboardist, the band’s guitarist, vocalist and cofounder Victor Vicart has no doubt about the album’s defining feature, “We wanted very distinct left and right guitars, and punchier drums and bass, which would transcribe better live. And the synths needed to be clearer; it’s very easy to put five guitars on each side, loads of different vocals and keys, but then you end up watching a band with an album you really like, and the songs sound nothing like the record. That’s what we wanted to avoid. As soon as the song starts, we want people to immediately recognize the riff.”
Thematically, Voidkind carries on with the band’s overarching narrative which traces a religious group through the generation line from the beginning to its end while the record’s stunning artwork depicts the main motif of this chapter, namely, "a godlike entity seducing and luring followers through their dreams and these followers' multigenerational journey to reach their god dimension. We wanted to have these kinds of visuals and aesthetics on this album. Even without the vocals we wanted to evoke something, different places and spaces, and take the listener on a journey.”
To the cool German guy on the flight from London to Stuttgart wearing the TesseracT shirt who told me to listen to DVNE…. If you ever read this: Thank you so much mate, you’re right, this band is incredible! Thank you! Beautiful. You are a gentleman and a scholar! Music binds us all together 👍 🍻
Like this much more than the first Single. On par with the predecessor and simply beautiful.
The sludgieness wabbers through much more on this one, which i greatly appreciate. I hope for more of this.
Exactly my thoughts. I wish they did a music video for this song instead. The first single was ok but it felt like Alternative Metal from the songwriting and sound. Deftones, Hum, Failure or something like that. I dig stuff like that too but DVNE is best when they do their proggy Post-Metal like in this song.
@@TonyRedgrave1501Ye, especially the chorus was just kind of generic sounding.
This song in comparison is technically excellent (as far as i can tell) and sounds much more like an actual evolution of their previous two records.
This sludgy riffs and the more doomy songstructure elevate it over this alternative and prog metal that is done so often nowadays.
Also this song encapsulates the Sci-Fi tones much better imo.
Video wisei wish they didnt do one at all haha.
The unexpected style of singing is what makes this song legendary. First metalshouting, then singing, shouting into amazing hypnotic symphonic Tool. With riffs melodies that complete it.
Once this song clicked, it became one of the best songs I've heard in a while. The entire album takes a couple listens, but guys, this is top tier stuff. This song is crazy good, the way it is structured, the clean vocal melodies the final riff, everything is perfect.
I cannot fn wait for this record to melt my face off the bone 10/10
This is SO GOOD!! Seriously, this is shaping out to be one of those albums that goes down in metal history! Rock on DVNE \m/
"This is MY DVNE..."
The entire album is an amazing sonic adventure. The song structures for this album are great. Shorter run times in total than previous album tracks (apart from the album closer which is epic in every sense of the word).
This track stands out as one of the best examples of what these guys do best. Screaming vocals are underrated and they start with it. Very heavy bass tone at the start and remains very atmospheric throughout the entire track. Guitar work is technical everywhere it need to be. The groovy melodies near the midpoint and building towards the end are very... Groovy. Clean vocals in the calmer parts are fitting. Lyrics are cryptic and poetic and I swear the whole album is just amazing. Start two finish it's a great journey. Cobalt Sun Necropolis is a brutal end to one of the heavier thematic albums these guys have made and I'm a huge fan.
The power! My jaw is still on the floor. 🤘🤘
They sure make some damn catchy riffs.
Just seen them live, astounding, gig of the decade
so good and the new album is phenomenal
Stunning. The people need lyrics!
I liked the last single but this track is on another level. The previous album was a year ender for me, and this new one seems like it might even top it!
PROCESSIOOOOOOON

Perhaps the sickest opening to a song. If you were falling asleep in Path of Ether you certainly aren’t now.
Every track from dvne is a journey I'm more then happy to take 🤘
Yo.... Ils defonce toujours autant les gars. Magnifique.

For fans of The Ocean 😉
I am still waiting for that collaboration song 😂
@@Korgi8Germany and Scotland hell yeah. Maybe this collaboration can bring DVNE to Australia too. Saw The Ocean live last year and going to see them live again later in 2024. Would love to see these 2 bands play on the same stage.
Never heard of them... but that riff in the beginning is so cool (sounds a bit Gojira inspired and that is not a bad thing)
Hellya!
in some moments it reminds me of TOOL which is not bad at all. Good job!
I like it
FUCK LOVE THIS !!!!
🤘🌚🤘
Is this the best song of 2024 , like Omega Severer ( Mlecha ), was for 2021?
Yeap , it surely is...
That opening riff.. :rox:

The great music is in direct opposition with the awful name.
