    Ha Ha I get that same way with beeping every time you have to move. That's one good thing about my John Deere 60G, it has a mute for the travel alarm and I use it a lot! I hate all the beeping every time you move. Keep up the good work, love those videos keep them coming.

    Hahaha!!...I wasn't really watching, just listening, and then you went off about that $&$**& *&*&$% backup beeper. Cracked me up for some reason. Subconsciously I was thinking the same thing!

    I sure feel you about that beeper. Half the time people ignore them anyway or they sure seem to when we have to sound the sirens on the cranes at work.

    Watch out for them flying golf balls Chris. I used to work on a golf course in high school. Dirty no goods always seemed to hit your way while you were working.

    Hey Chris, I was on a project with my son-in-law this summer and I was running a SKYTRAK for him for about a month. The beeper on that thang was SO annoying and LOUD!!! I had some painter's masking tape in the truck and put a couple of strips of tape over the mouth of the beeper and it still worked, but was less than half as loud. I didn't want to disable it in case an inspector showed up on the job, but it made the beeper bearable for a long work day. Every time you touched one of the levers on SKYTRAK that dang beeper would go off!!!

    You have a perfect job! Take their money and laugh all the way to the bank!
    I use to go to the golf courses to take out trees....with golf balls....and PAY THEM to let me do it!....what a fool I was. Just shows you that an Old Fart can still learn something!
    Thanks for the video!

    Just some advice, when you track along to help the pins roller sprockets ect, not wear out as fast if you bring our boom and stick closer to the cab, as it keeps the weight more centred

  • @Thujaplicata1

  • @karjack11
    @karjack11 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    chris maybe instead of taking the beeper out you can trace its wiring back to the foot controls. there has to be a wire ran to the pedals that is conmected to a electrical solinoid that detects when the pedals are pushed to activate. maybe you can cut the wire to kill it

    i have a stupid question for you. why is it that its rare for an American excavator to have a rototilt or a tilt rotator? Here in Finland (and all over northern europe) it is allmost impossible to find one without it. Is there a specific reason for that?

    • @Syyllinen95
      @Syyllinen95 8 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @localcrew
    @localcrew 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those friggin' backup alarms are annoying. I have a theory about those things. Once you are around them for awhile you just tune 'em out and ignore them -- rendering them pretty useless. A friend of mine's wife's father worked for the New Jersey highway department and was on a jobsite when a dump truck backed right over him. Messed him up good, naturally. They were on soft ground so that saved his life. OSHA checked the truck and the backup alarm was working. Dude must have just tuned it out. That's my theory anyway.
    I'd wrap that alarm in a rag and see if that stifles it some.

    • @DigAHoleFillAHole
      @DigAHoleFillAHole 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are starting to change the back up beepers for white noise now, seems to be harder to tune out and not so annoying for people not in the immediate area.

    • @letsdig18
      @letsdig18  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yup you will start to tune them out if you are around them long enough.

    • @arkansas1313
      @arkansas1313 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      localcrew --- I knew they were on but "couldn't hear them" until they were really close and then I noticed, just as they did their job. I guess they're necessary.....?
      However, I vote they get thrown in the p. c. crowd and kicked down the road, because people shouldn't be walking around in a work zone like idiots!

    I was waiting for somebody to say something about those damned reverse alarms. It is a pity that simply bright yellow warning signs can't advise people that there's something bigger than they are, working in the immediate area.
    The way some safety 'nuts' are going, they will soon make it mandatory to have rubber teeth on chain saws !!!

    • @Ubeer85
      @Ubeer85 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you ever worked around heavy equipment? I would say that the reverse alarms are there to signal other ppl who are working at the site. 1 thing that some ppl might do for example (including myself :D) is cutting pipe or ''styrofoam'' behind the machine. Its a stupid thing to do and it doesnt occur that often but sometimes in the heat of things you can forget.

      You know, Dense, some of you folks have got to learn not take what I said so seriously. Can't you tell when somebody ( like me ) is making a joke of annoying but necessary, back alarms ?
      Back alarms are an essential safety warning, put there to ,......no I won't finish this as some of you might put on your 'serious frowns' again and try to tell me off .
      It's Christmas season, try to chill out a tad, and smile,...you can't insult me, as I just don't care about these 'sharply' written replies. But one thing's for sure,..you read it, didn't you.
      Merry Christmas and all the best of good health in 2017.

    Great video Chris. We took shop rags and stuffed them into the backup horns on all the forklifts at work. Duct taped the hell out of them and muffled it down to a bearable point that the operators could live with it and told our in house safety Nazi that they can still be heard... Deal with it BITCH........
