    It's insane to run a 5 km under 15 min in my mind! I hope i can do it one day. I just broke the 20 min barrier.

      Yeah I also just got a sub 20 and it is just humbling to watch something like this because I felt as if I was working at my limit, but to see how far there is to go, it is slightly demoralising but also equally as encouraging.

      Estoy en la misma situación, hace poco rompí la barrera de los 20 minutos (19:42), después comenzar a entrenar hace 5 meses (ya corría antes 800m pero lo dejé 2 años por la pandemia), ahora continuó entrenando para ir bajando poco a poco, vamos por los 18 min

    Wow, Ben, you've come a long way in terms of your racing and approach to running since I started watching your channel a while back. Amazing! I know what you mean about race fatigue. I love to race, mostly just to get out of the house and run some place different. It is very hard to go all in when you race every weekend, especially at the shorter distances. The mental fatigue you speak of is real. Love seeing you and Cole's adventures. Looked like a fun trip. Always great to share the experience of travel with a friend. Love your videos and keep up the solid work!

      @BenIsRunning  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah it was a difficult one to explain. My body felt fresh but my mind not so much. I think building up for a race over say 6 weeks really help’s physiologically prepare where as this one was a little last minute add on to my track season if that makes sense :) thanks for the support as always 🎉

Hearing you talk about the race and being able to commit mentally to it, it made me wonder do you work with a sports psychologist? If you do, how do they help with the mental side of running? Was aiming to break 17 mins for the first time - started off on pace (actually a tad too quick) but didnt fully commit to going with the faster runners/maintaining the pace. Ended up slightly in no man's land and finished a few seconds over. Frustrating as i think I physically could have done it on the night.

    Wow!!! Good race, although your head may not have been with you all the way. Disappointed, why? You know yourself that you have the time in your body, think you thought too much PB instead of just listening to your body and go all in. 👏👏👏 Sorry bad English, Swedish😉

      Hey bud! Youre right. Can’t be disappointed. Just hungry for more. I know it’s there based of my training so I’ll get it all out at the next one ☝️

    @Ben:
    Four months ago you postet a video concerning must-do workouts for a better 5k-time, but you didn't mention how the recovery-time should look like. Complete running stop or very slow running? Thanks for your answer in advance.

      I prefer standing recovery for 5k sessions personally but it’s totally up to you :)
