I don't cheer or have a long history in dance. However I think that would help them/cheerleaders/dancers etc.is learning how to keep a steady pulse/time. I have done band for 4 years.I have a good history making it into honor bands. I watched a lot of the girls they did fine without the music,but when it started they lost count.I truly think if they learned how to keep a steady tempo it would help. They did really good though. Good luck to all the girls.
My daughter was a cheerleader and loved it. She's all grown up now and lives on her own and works. Cheerleading was her fav thing to do. I was also a cheerleader growing up. Cheering was my life. I'm all old now lol.
