what fabric did you use to sew the velcro onto? I want to make sure I get one that doesnt degrade due to the velcro hook pulling the fibres out.

The loop side of velcro? It's the hook side of velcro I think most people want to learn tricks and tips for.

After 40 years of sewing I learned something new thank you and I will put my walking foot on for sewing hook and loop tape I modify some of my shirts and bras post shoulder surgery makes getting dressed easier and I hated sewing it thanks again for such great tip

I think I use a 90 universal needle. If you’re sewing through thick fabric you may want to use a 100

Can I sow valcro to a mesh dog harness?

It depends how flimsy the mesh is, you may need to stabilise it so it is sturdy enough to sew the Velcro to it
