Thank you for helping to explain and bring this Louis C.K. story to life even more. You said that Russian people can be very sentimental . . . I was wondering if sometime you might talk about why Russians love ballet so much more than any other single country. I think it is connected to what you said about this national sadness, sentimentality, and love for art. I fell in love with ballet because I bought my first Swan Lake as performed by the Bolshoi in 1989. The main stage curtains still had the symbols of the Soviet Union on them, but when the audience cheered, they sounded like all repression and pain was being lifted for a moment. This will always be my favorite Swan Lake (choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich).
My grandpa loved onions, he would just eat onion between two slices of white bread. When I was older he told me that during the great depression there would be times where all his family could afford or obtain was a sack of onions. It finally made sense that he learned to enjoy them so much and some mornings i would indulge him and have an onion sandwich with him. We need to learn to truly appreciate what we have and stop looking outward for problems we cannot fix. Take care of those around you and not be bothered with whatever foolishness others may bring.

In 1992 a group of Russians came here to see how we in 12 step recovery created our services…I was fortunate to have a young man stay with me during his visit…A couple of days after he and his group arrived…I had to go to the grocery store to pick up a cake so he went with me…I live in LA on the West Side in the Venice Beach area we went to a Ralph’s Market…When we were inside the store I notice that my young Russian friend looked troubled…then he began to cry…He told me that he had never seen such abundance…He was always told that Capitalism was a failure…It was his first experience in a fully stocked grocery store…So we walked up and down all the isles twice…the next day he took his friends there so they could see…I had no idea how tough life could be in the former USSR…This touched me deeply…
Even in the "good times" in the USSR Khruschev was said to not be able to process or accept that he wasn't being fooled, upon his visit to the United States, that in an everyday local super market in America you could actually have food fully stocked on the shelves and no one was waiting in long lines to get some of it.

The best situation for people is to have a society structured so that they can actually take action in their own lives to provide for themselves in some manner. Sniffing glue was a problem in a lot of countries for a long time. There was even a band in the US called The Ramones that had a song in 1976 called "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." The glue manufacturers finally figured out that if they put horseradish in the glue that it would be almost impossible inhale the glue fumes.
When I was a child ,a teen down the block was sniffing glue and the mother asked my dad for help. People also sniff markers, gasoline, paint, and other things.
I wonder which station he went to. Most of the Moscow metro system is fairly deep, but like.... 100 feet or so on average, whereas Park Pobedy station is 276 feet down and is deepest point in the Moscow metro.
Oh my goodness! You live in NJ! My family has lived in NJ since the mid 1700's after living on Long Island for about 100 years. Mt father's family came from England and had to get permission from the Dutch since New York was still New Amsterdam. My mother's family was Dutch. So we always wondered if my father's family got permission from my mother's. In NJ all towns touch each other. There is no unincorporated territory between them like there is in much of the US. Also, our system of surveying land is like that in the others in the original thirteen and different from many other states.

Hello, the word you were looking for is "elementary" school. That's the low grades kindergarten through fifth grade, then middle school, then high school. But, that's not the only english word for it. Some call it primary school, or grade school. I hope Louis CK does another take after visiting Russia again. A lot has changed in the last 30 years of course. Great reaction video, it really made my day! Thank you
Reminds me of when i went to the Moscow subway. We were quite lost and didn't know what subway line to take. It didn't take long before many Russians would try to help us (even if their English was bad!). At that point i realised i had been lied to by Hollywood and that Russians were very willing to help strangers! Oh sure there is the tough and hard exterior, but i've never experienced that much help from random strangers in a foreign country ever again.
Great job with your reaction to Louis CK doing a comic bit about his trip to Russia and Once Again you look stunning and gorgeous and I love your laugh its adorable . Your nails look Amazing.
Another comedy legend 😹 As usual you have a very interesting perspective on what he said. Also I'm always happy to see the cute dog 🥺 Another wonderful video as always!
After spending time in SPB and Moscow, here's a tip as a foreigner -- if someone comes up to you and offers you anything in Russia, your first response needs to be a Нет. There's pretty much nothing more you need to worry about.
Back in the 80's and 90's in Finland it was more common for kids to sniff glues and markers for a high. I think nowadays all manner of narcotics are more common, so the "good old ways" (obviously it is a serious danger to your health) are more of a rarity.

Haha that’s amazing insight right there !
Come to Wisconsin, I'll show you around Green Bay and Milwaukee lol
Maybe after the bills play the packers in Super Bowl :-)
@@RussianReactionReviews Lol sounds like a date. If it's Packers vs Bills I'll take you to the Packers Hall of Fame
When I was a child ,a teen down the block was sniffing glue and the mother asked my dad for help. People also sniff markers, gasoline, paint, and other things.
I heard the stories from my grandparents,, really sad
I'VE JUST SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL.
Thank youu!
That really is a marvelous thing about humans. no matter how shitty it gets, we can always find it funny.
As someone who lives in NJ...yeah. Understandable.
Hey Cutie! I love this video Louis CK is my very favorite.
Not sure where in NJ you are, but the forests there are breathtaking.. especially in the central western part.
Paint, glue, gasoline it's all brain cells.
love your videos, i have to say you look soo much better with no lipstick on, or the lighter tone you might have on, compared to the crazy red one you put on :)
Wth was that snorting 6:04 a fur pig? Lol
The '90s were a strange time to be alive in the world.
I have seen this sniffing of glue in cinemas in France in the seventies and eighties
New to this channel. I like this young lady. She's informative and has a nice personality. I look forward to seeing more of her videos.
You’re so kind ! Thank you 😊
So, I am from Venezuela, and this is so familiar to me. The people who smell glue and get high are called huele pega. they smell the glue because it keeps them without being hungry for hours.
wow thanks for the insight i didnt know that
Have you ever heard the song "Russians" by Sting? It was written in the mid 80s, towards the end of the cold war.
I haven’t 🤔
@@RussianReactionReviews It was a pretty big hit when it came out. It was playing on the radio every morning when my clock radio alarm went off to go to school. Sting chides both sides for being foolish regarding the nuclear arms race. How about Scorpions' "Wind Of Change?"
the intro music and animated dog get me pumped up
Your comment has done the same for me !! Thank you !! What’s your podcast about ?
I subscribed , :-)
@@RussianReactionReviews Thanks! means a ton!
Of course I wish you luck
New Jersey?? Me too! Where in NJ are you????!
I’m relatively to close to New York like 30 min drive
Yes. HUFFING has been an issue here. Not just glue but the keyboard duster spray as well.
Picked this just from the face in the thumbnail. Not disappointed lol
Thank you
I would love to hear a European comedian tell a story about vacationing to a place like Detroit.
Theres lions games and the rock n roll hall of fame. lol Im sure you can be creative and make a trip of it
@@RussianReactionReviews The Rock&Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland, Ohio. Not Detroit, Michigan, which does have Motown and its Hall of Fame.
Also, in Dearborn, Henry Ford built a couple of nice museums worth going to.
Ooo sorry still learning my way around . I can navigate the City well , but it’s deserted :-/
Look up Micky Flanagan, he a cockney comedian that spent time in the states. Is apart of the The Out Out Tour. Also look up Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle.
Great choice
Hello, the word you were looking for is "elementary" school. That's the low grades kindergarten through fifth grade, then middle school, then high school. But, that's not the only english word for it. Some call it primary school, or grade school. I hope Louis CK does another take after visiting Russia again. A lot has changed in the last 30 years of course. Great reaction video, it really made my day! Thank you
Thank you Major ! Great insight , and yes it definitely has changed . I hear so much about it from my parents and grandparents
I live in NJ also! idk why I am always surprised to hear that lolol
Louis CK for that coke had just paid that guy's retirement xD
I live in NJ too. Near Giants Stadium
Also I'm always happy to see the cute dog 🥺 Another wonderful video as always!
yessss there's my boy montana guy i missed that little guy. also love vid's like this to get your point of view.
This is touching.
Glue sniffing was a thing in the UK (school kids) in the 80s.
Love your reactions but maybe do a video on how your life growing up in Russia was like. I know I’d like to here what it was like to grow up there
I’m going to do a live TH-cam session soon . I would love To answer some comments and questions
