Thanks man! Its such a lot of fun modding guitars - been doing it for years and it always makes guitars special to play and look at 😊 Agreed....VH totally rules! 🤘🤘 🤘 Have an awesome day!
Hey David, I really appreciate it and its great to have you on board 😊 I've been having a blast lately with the contents I have been working on. Its been making me smile a lot! Glad I'm able to share this whole musical journey! Have an awesome day!
Thanks! Yes, a lot of fun to do for sure! I'm kinda glad that I filmed it as it was great watching it over again and seeing where the guitars started and how they ended up! Are you know, you're totally right - thats what VH was about! I'm so glad you mentioned that because its the reason why I have fallen into this EVH rabbit hole! It is such a blast to do! There is just great energy in the music, the gear, everything! Gotta love EVH! 🤘 🤘 🤘 Have an awesome day!
It's a pleasure to see you working on your guitars or amps again...but when I see you with such a sharp blade my heart jumps out of my mouth 😂😂😂. Great work, Jay
Thanks Jordi! I appreciate it and I really appreciate the concern as well! 😊🙏🏽 I am very very careful with blades now after my boo-boo last year! Remember that??? 😂 Anyways, all fingers safe and accounted for. Glad you enjoyed it man! Have an awesome day!
Oh cool! Yeah they are really impressive aren't they? I am gonna order a brass block and some brass saddles for my PRS CE.It already sounds incredibly good. These will no doubt improve the tone even more! Have an awesome day Jeff!
Thanks my brother! It is so so much appreciated 😊 🙏 I know they would come in handy for something and this was the perfect project! 😊 🤘 Have an awesome day!
Oh cool man! I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a pleasure doing! I have been planning the video for a while. Finally got it done! Yay! 🤘 Have an awesome day!
@@Scottocaster6668 hey dude, that decal is actually real carbon fibre - 2mm if I can remember correctly - my very good friend Stefan Huther at Redstuff Amps cut it for me on his CNC machine as a favour.
Hey dude! I would so love to do that! You'll get to see first it when I do 😉 I am contemplating getting a bumblebee guitar - there is one listed at the moment at a pretty tasty price. That or do my own on a Wolfie? What do yout think??? Have an awesome day!
My God. I think I may be in some sort of state of Nirvana right now. LOL This is incredible! I was one of the guys asking for this vid. I wanted to see what you did. And I think it's just so awesome that you actually shared this with us - and didn't hold onto this as your secret. So cool, my Van Halen Brother! Love you for doing this. And so so glad I found your channel ! Love both guitars. Maybe 5150 by a hair. Awesome riffage!
So glad you enjoyed it! And glad i was able to share it. I had been planning it for a while but then I had a tonne of other videos come in which I needed to prioritise. I guess this was the perfect time. Its so tough choosing between them right? Thats one of the reasons I am so glad i got both! Now I don't have to choose! Ha! Glad you enjoyed the tracks too! 🤘 🤘 🤘 Have an awesome day!
Super Glue on the 3D numbers?! All of the other mods could be easily reversed, should you ever want to. The use of Super Glue is pretty permanent and will definitely leave permanent damage to the finish, I would think. No worries, I'm sure you're never going back to stock!! lol. I'm really enjoying your channel. Glad I found it!
Ha! You know, I just realised that I did that 😂 Doh! Doh! Doh! But in all honestly I am NEVER going back to stock now! 😃 I should have used tape but hey done now. I'm glad you're enjoying the channel dude! Its great to have you on board 😊 🤘 🙏 Have an awesome day!
Jay,... great video, love the guitars, the music and your enthusiasm !!! Back in the early 2000's I had a Peavey Wolfgang in Dark Cherry Burst... the model with the carved top... I sure wish I had kept it!! Enjoy those guitars mate!! Haha 😊
Hey Mark! Thanks man! I appreciate it! 🙏 Oh cool about the peavey! That one is on my shopping list. The EVH guitars from all eras seem to be so so excellent all around! Have an awesome day!
Awesome ideal, i did something similar on my kramer strike i went to walmart and bought black and red tape and just started taping different stripes ,it looks pretty cool for like 8 american dollars i did mine, i will probably do what you did with tint very good ideal, stay safe and god bless
Oh that’s totally awesome man! I have been thinking about creating a bumblebee with electrical tape. I am so wanting one of those black and yellow guitars! 😊 Have an awesome day!
If you do decide to take the lacquer route i'd check it on that vinyl first. Might melt it. Otherwise those are some spanking looking and awesome sounding instruments. Kudos for making them your own. Mad skills on the tune too.
Oh yeah! Thats a great point! Thank you for the reminder. I really appreciate it 🙏 It would be a shame if the lacquer hits the film and then just melts it onto the body. I don't think it will because it is designed for cars - so probably rated for heat and sun exposure and stuff like that. But well worth checking first! Thanks about the track too! Always love creating some Eddie inspired riffs and licks! Have an awesome day!
I Van Halen-ized my mid 80s West Strat-o-Clone. I did black on white paint. It's like a Picasso. It looks cool from a distance, but up close, it's a mess.😅
Oh cool man! I wanna do a full paint job on a body that I have had lying around forever and a day! Hopefully it will look good up close too…. but no promises! I may have to do a Picasso like you did 😜 I bet Eddies original guitar looked like that too! 😂 Have an awesome day!
Awesome video, Jay! Love watching all of your content after work! 😎 Quick question! I was in the middle of one of your old Lynch Lycks lessons and today it showed most of those videos are private now! Is there a way to pay/subscribe somewhere to access them? I was so close on that Heaven Sent “Live” solo! No worries either way! Rock on, man!
Hey dude, hows it going? OH I'm sorry about that! I have been cleaning up my video feed and taking some of those off my main channel as they don't get watched very often these days. I have just made as much as I could available to TH-cam Members so feel free to join up to my TH-cam Membership and you will get access to those videos 😊 🙏 You'll find the sign up on my main youtube profile. Thanks and enjoy!!! Have an awesome day!
Hey dude, that's a fantastic question! Yes it has - the tone is better. I noticed it as soon as I put strings on and played the guitar. More sustain, a little more midrange and just overall nicer sound 😊 Hope that helps! Have an awesome day!
You rout that much wood from the Floyd channel you *have* to have a floating trem, cos you've removed all the wood the trem sits on if the Floyd is decked. Be careful out there!
Hey dude! I appreciate your concern, but I just wanted to clarify - I didn't actually do a full recess route around the Floyd Rose bridge. I only extended the sustain block cavity width slightly to allow for greater lateral travel. It's a mod I've done many times as a guitar builder to accommodate larger sustain blocks when the bridge doesn't dive enough. The bridge can still be set up to rest on the body if desired. In my case, I wanted a floating setup anyway, so I shimmed the neck to allow for both dive and pull-up. Thanks for watching and have an awesome day! 😊
Hey dude! Thanks for letting me know you're not watching (I think???) - though I'm a bit confused why you needed to comment to tell me that! 😉 Everyone's got different tastes in guitar aesthetics, that's what makes the guitar world interesting. The video has already helped and inspired lots of folks in less than 24 hours, and will likely continue to do so for a long time to come. Anyways, have an awesome day! 😊
Hey dude! I appreciate the suggestion, but I create content that I'm passionate about and genuinely enjoy. Van Halen's music and gear continue to inspire me, and lots of viewers really dig these videos too! When I've done purely original content in the past, way way way less people watch and it gets way less engagement - funny how that works, right? Besides, Eddie's influence on guitar is worth celebrating every single day don't you think? Have an awesome day! 😊
