This is maybe because of some os config issue, you should go to google and checkout other command to install JDK on your machine and you can try this too sudo apt update sudo apt install openjdk-8-jdk
Try to run that project from android studio(configure it if required) then again run from your terminal, if not work then you can solve it from stackoverflow.
Don't know why my app during starting stuck on this :react-native-gradle-plugin > Resolve files of :react-native-gradle-plugin:classpath > kotlin-compiler-embeddable-1.6.10.jar >
Please check do you have graphic card in you pc, if yes then you have to Enable virtualization. you need to go to your system BIOS settings and enable virtualization.

despite keying in same command as you in installing jdk i have the openjdk version "1.7.0_232" installed why ?please help..I have ubuntu 20.04.3

You need to update your package class path version, or need to update kotlin version.

It is normal text file like other, Just double click on that file or just right click and select open with to select your favorite editor, that's it.

There is a command by which you can create its entry shortcut or you can create it from an Android studio.
Just search on google about it.
