If you go over your project with your heating tool the glue strands will completely go away. And you're right, you have to be careful not to melt your glue.The heart turned out awesome. Great job Mike. =^^=

Lovely piece... the colors and the copper are brilliant, especially with the little round embellishments that look like they'd been there from the early times. Very nicely done. The heart is very nice and the lion "knocker" is a wonderful addition. No sure what else you could have done with the spacers... MayB a little less shiny, but it still turned out beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.

I think that adding that flat canvas to the inside of the back was so clever, but then you are such a clever Lad. :-). If you are going through your move, I hope all is going well. Wish I could find that door knocker piece!

Really loving your new 7-day series!!! Thank you. A FANTASTIC tool I can highly recommend, especially having arthritis in my right hand which I believe you do as well, is a Bosch Glue Pen. You can purchase from a hardware shop or online. Inexpensive, no cord, rechargeable battery which holds the charge FOR AGES, and very comfortable in the hand to hold and squeeze, heats up in SECONDS!!!! Will attach a photo of mine in case you and others are interested. I think Ian will need one too OR you 2 may forever be fighting over this amazing tool hehehehehe

Glue strings evaporate with a few seconds of blow drying or with a heat tool.

Heat gun will remove hot glue strings. Just quick pass over the piece. Love your work.

Absolutely stunning!!! I love it very much. I think you did a fabulous job on the first coat of gesso. Watching you dry brush the copper was like watching waxing or adding rub 'n' buff. This would make Ian a perfect new home gift 😊❤
Mike I love that piece and that music is perfect. It sounds like band music in a Victorian park.
I think on the little wooden tabs that you put in beside the frame would have been cool if you would have put something on the wooden tabs in the center for more decoration like a very small screw nut . Or something small and copper on each corner . Looks great you did a good job .
The beauty of art is that everyone would create it differently and in their own way...there are millions of alternatives, each as different and unique as the people that make them.

I figured it out a copper BB would finish off the corners in the center of the wood pieces

@@MikeDeakinArt yes from a BB gun. The little square pieces of wood you put in the corner inside the frame could be finished off with a little Bebe in the center of each little square piece of wood because it looks like in the picture it has little round metal balls on the picture also anyway I just thought it was a really nice picture but my house is mid-century modern
