Kox doesn't mean energy in any Danish slang i've ever heard of. If anything Kox might come from the verb to kokse (ud). To "coal" (out).. Its kind of related to the word 'Hygge' both in meaning and in that it doesn't really have an equivalent term in English. Except when you Kox-out (translated) i'd say that you are probably high!

Concerning the old school Danish trance I can say with absolute certainty that Koxbox is quite good, but a little bit irrationally overvalued compared to ColorBox (who is expectedly far lesser known). On a funny note a friend of mine who made me aware of the existence of Goa/psy trance music ~14 years ago, enthusiastically pointed to KoxBox as a typical representative of the genre. However as it gradually became clear to me afterwards he never was deeply interested in electronic music. An mp3 folder was chosen mostly due to the provocative name of the artist and not due to the truly unique characteristics of the sound.
