Mothra Leo genuinely surprised me by how much of a powerhouse the guy is when I watched the mothra trilogy for the first time. Ironically he's the 1st son of a popular kaiju in this franchise to be stronger than his parent. (Zilla Jr being 2nd)
@@jasongray6698 It's a good question time travel aside I think godzilla might might beaable to take down leo as the heisei godzilla pre burning mode was able to defeat and kill ghidora. So if this means that they were close in power I feel burning mode would put godzilla on top.
The idea of Mothra and King Ghidorah existing in a timeline with seemingly no version of Godzilla is fascinating. I do sometimes wonder how well Leo would fare against any version Godzilla compared to his mother.

This was a fun trilogy of movies for me, and I love all of the antagonists. I know that they don’t exist in the same continuity, but I would love to see Junior and Leo team up.
That makes me think of a fun what if scenario: What if the heisei Godzilla series and Rebirth of Mothra were in the same continuity? Moll and Lora replace the Cosmos in the godzilla heisei series, the ROM kaiju are scaled up, and Rebirth of Mothra 1 takes place 3 days after the events of Godzilla vs Destroyah.
This video was an absolute odyssey; I did most of my work on the script in 2020. Glad it's out in the world and all the set stories we uncovered can finally be told.
The 90's Mothra Trilogy is absolutely stunning. To this day, I think Toshiyuki Watanabe's musical scores are some of the best kaiju film scores out there.

The rebirth of Mothra movies were definitely great Mothra movies. Mothra Leo was so powerful that he managed to defeat King Ghidorah in the final rebirth of Mothra movie. That alone means that Mothra Leo would give even Godzilla trouble if they ever fought. I really hope that Mothra gets another new movie in the future, whether in the monsterverse or by Toho.🦋 🐲🐉

Mothra and Jet Jaguar have always been my favorite zilla-universe monsters. Something about a peace oriented guardian beast is endearing, especially considering how often Mothra gets clapped by stronger monsters.
Gotta say I love Mothra Leo he is only Mothra I really like overall a powerful kaiju small but powerful with his broken plot armor or new forms are for whatever situation calls for it I love see him in monsterverse or future movies

Awesome history lesson and breakdown! I like how they used ideas from some of the unmade films, never knew that. The death of Mothra in the first film is a very emotional and a well executed scene and the enemy kaiju are really cool. Pretty good trilogy as well despite being over saturated with beams haha.

While it's clearly made for children, i still enjoyed these films with my brother and would recommend it to anyone whos a big fan to the giant moth. Love the look to Leo (especially armored mothra). Rainbow Mothra just got added to Battle Line, as well. Though, for some reason, he's not an evolution of Mothra Leo, instead being a separate unit that emphasizes his barrier ability by giving it to himself and other allied monsters around him.

This definitely helps me see more about what makes mothra leo so powerful Like why not the strongest at the same time his different forms allow him to excel pretty high at whatever it is he needs to do melee range even aquatic combat However there's nothing here that really shows me the idea that mothra leo could actually beat burning Godzilla in a fight like how some people have suggested that is except for of course one ability Of course the one thing that probably makes this monster stand out above the rest or at least a good chunk of them is his time travel capabilities this is probably the single most devastating capability of this Kaiju that I've seen and even if burning Godzilla could defeat mothra Leo in his most powerful forms musculars intelligent enough that he would probably just go back in time and remove whatever factors took place that allowed Godzilla to become burning Godzilla maybe even just stop Godzilla from forming in the first place The only downside to this time travel capability is probably the laws of time itself After all in different eras with different fictions and timelines each time line seems to have their own rules on how time travel work so unless if it's mothra Leo time travel or back to the Future time travel this could very easily backfire on mothra Leo so this is a highly dangerous and highly calculated attack through Time Strong monster but not quite as strong as people I've tried to lead me to believe but I will keep my ears out for more information to see if this monster is even stronger than I currently think

The greatest crime of the Godzilla Earth continuity is that it did not end with Leo emerging from his egg and finally defeating Godzilla. He and Haruo could've been bros! Especially if they applied the "all Mothras retain their ancestors' memories" angle.

This ‘King’ may have been the strongest member of the colony, a warrior, leading them into battle as seen in when they were fighting desghidorah millions of years ago at 8:38. The queen would constantly lay eggs to add for the growing army as with other eusocial insects. Leo’s appearance makes me think he’s a dominant male but since he’s the last one, he will be king to no one.

I recently watched this trilogy about a year ago, thanks to an amazon Blu-Ray order. And honestly, it felt way more like a kids movie than a kaiju film. Which yeah, I know that was the intention. Also, I recently realized that Des Ghidorah's roar sounds like an elephant. Which is so cheesy and stupid, it kinda makes me laugh.

Honestly the Mothra trilogy is so fascinating and is proof (not that Mothra needs justifying) that Mothra deserves more movies

my theory for why leo was a guy is that he hatched from his egg before his mother died so he ended up male instead of female
I recently watched this trilogy about a year ago, thanks to an amazon Blu-Ray order.
And honestly, it felt way more like a kids movie than a kaiju film. Which yeah, I know that was the intention.
Also, I recently realized that Des Ghidorah's roar sounds like an elephant. Which is so cheesy and stupid, it kinda makes me laugh.
