Hey thank you for your guide. There were some interesting set ups and pokemon. However, as a Sunny day user, I have to pinpoint some mistakes that you said/did: _ Sunsteel Strike does not ignore chlorophylle at all. It ignores the ability of the pokemon once the damage is applied (For example Mimikyu's Disguise) _ Moonlight/Synthesis: 1/2 hp normal weather, 2/3 sunny , 1/3 in any other weather (So you avoid being vague) _ Foul Play uses the oponents Attack stats. Therefore, even if you dont invest attack any EV in attack, this move could be pretty decent against physical attackers (Against who you want to switch your umbreon anyway) as you will use their very high attack (instead of your 121), STAB it with your type. _ No reason to run Leaf Storm instead of Leaf Blade on Shiftry (Do the math) _ I don't understand the Toxic on Solgaleo. (it does not fit his kit there) _ Stealth rock DOES AFFECT FLYING FOR SUPER EFFECTIVE DAMAGE. You usually takes 1/8 of your life upon entering. Fire pokemon takes 1/4 and Fire+Flying takes 1/2 of their life. That's why it is VERY VERY important to use a rapid spin/ defog pokemon, otherwise you won't be lasting long with your Charizard. _ You forgot the mega gems ability. Venusaur loses Chlorophyle upon evolving (Gains Thick fat instead, pretty nice too), Growth is a nice option (It boost both attack and sp attack by 2 under the sun). Charizard X does not have Solar power (Tough claws which boost his physical attack by 1/3). I really liked the Houndoons, Slowbro, Charizard Y and Necrozma sets. I totally advice to not take any pokemon that is 4 times weak to fire (Scissors, Foretress, Ferrothorn) as they would take 6*damage under the sun (Hidden power fire is quite used). Usually, what the team lacks is either : _ Speed (Think of using Speed boost Blaziken, Quiver Dance Volcarona, Tailwind or some trick room shenanigan with Alolan Marowak) _ Hasard Remover (Rapid spin Torkoal or my favorite: Magic bounce + Tailwind Xatu) _ Free switches as the pokemon are not very tanky. One ridicusly good strategie is using a slow baton passer (either umbreon or... PYUKUMUKU, that last one is a fucking beast in this team as the oponent is unlikely to use grass type moves) Finally, some usefull pokemon to support your team: Dragonite, Garchomp, Mamoswine. The last one is a huge threat, his ice priority move will destroy your Grass type mon, while earthquake destroy any fire type. Thick Fat helps him survive... Others: Victini, Infernape Terrakium
You are more than welcome. I really liked your guide and it inspires me to test some sets(for example Froslass). Adding my knowledge is the least I can do. Thank you
Tbh I thought when I uploaded this vid was Wednesday because that's when i try to get my videos out but it was Tuesday >.> I rushed it even though I didn't need to... And Froslass is amazing! Because it's a lead, it can set up before you start your weather of any kind and it can possibly take out the opponent easily. It'd go well with, like you suggested before, rapid spin torkoal just incase the opponent is also setting up. You can set up, take out their set up, and then start weather and remove their set up.
Hello! I´m a sunny day expert. I´ve run everything from HO to stall under the sun (even quickstall on ubers) and I can assure leaf storm is a good move on shiftry (going mixed allows him to punch trough landorus w/o settup). Anyways, a standar HO team must ALWAYS begin with Zard-Y and ChloroSau, and I would also throw MB espy in there as a 3 mon core. IMO those 3 are the pillars for sun offense on OU
Magic bounce on Espion is indeed very usefull, do you use it as a sun setter too? The only problem with your 3 mon core is that you have a lot of special attackers (I know Venusaur can be mixed attacker with the like of Earthquake, but I do not like sacrifying its defense). I will be trying Mold breaker Excadrill (Bulky spinner), I think he does really well covering for the team weaknesses (except that he is weak to fire...)
Three ways to go with Sunny Day: 1. Grass-types: Go for a Solar Beam STAB, but be careful of Fire-types! 2. "You fell for, it, you fool!": Fire-types can use one turn Solar Beam attacks. It's not gonna get STAB, but all types Fire is weak to, are weak to Grass. So it also prevents STAB Water, Rock or Ground moves. Of course, Power Herbs can't hurt. 3. Flannery's strategy: Just tank the mostly physical Rock and Ground attacks, then counter the usually weak special defense with a strong Fire attack, like Overheat. Then remember, in Emerald that damn Torkoal has a White Herb, so the first Overheat is punishment free.
These videos are extremely helpful, but I will mention that when you say that Groudon should run red orb I'd have to disagree because you're running a sun team and primal ' s Drought goes away when he switches out
pokemmo team Torkoal stealth rock, toxic, defensive EV spread. tank and sun provider Exeggutor Solar beam, Hidden power fire, Ancient Power, psyshock life orb sweeper Chansey Charge Beam, Refresh, softboiled, defense curl. Spec def tank Skarmory Roar, spikes, Toxic, Roost. Def tank Mienshao hi jump kick, u turn, fake out, rock slide Fighter currently using gengar, but not for long

Ik it's an old video but why have moonlight on a choice scarfed mon that doesn't have switcheroo or trick?
something to note: primal groudon's desolate land disappears upon switching out, meaning that pdon does not work for sun teams lol
