Trambaan - Twents blokje om

Video of the Trambaan, a route part of the local trail system 'Twentsblokjeom.nl'. The trambaan follows the old tramway route from Denekamp to Oldenzaal in Twente. This tram was build to support the booming textile industry in the early 1900, carrying workers and cargo. Public transport was seized in the depression of the '30's, while cargo shipments carried on until 1942, when the track were torn down to be used by the Germans on the Eastern front.
