Doctor and parent shares her and 2 year old daughter Amelia’s experience with us!

@dr.katie.h shares her 2 year old daughter, Amelia’s progress in our transitional lessons. Amelia completed the KASS Survival program over 9 months ago where she was taught how to float independently, roll from her front to her back to breathe and recover from a fall into water. Now Amelia is onto the next stage where she is learning stroke whilst always reinforcing the survival skills. Note how Amelia is always horizontal in the water and rolls to her back to breathe rather than lift her head. At this age children are encouraged to remain horizontal as lifting her head would change her centre of gravity resulting in her legs dropping and being more vertical in the water which is much more difficult to breathe, revert back to horizontal and propel forward. #floatingsaveslives #survivalskills #survivalbeforestroke #drowningprevention @kidsaquaticsurvivaldingley
