Yeah its been pretty handy, i've actually conveeted it to a plasma/grinding table now and it works great to keep the smoke down as well as all the dross pieces off the floor of the shop while using the cnc plasma (arcdroid) Thanks for watching and commenting.
I know what a bear metal dust is with a concrete floor - can't imagine with your gravel! This will be a great unsung hero of a tool in your arsenal. Nice job Ron!
I like it a lot. Of course after different uses you’ll think of stuff. A simple immediate thot, get the CFM off the fans and size your vent holes to that. Blade fans don’t cause a vacuum so you want to be close to just slightly large for max. draw. My thot is you will have more smoke draw. Also a dump pan for the dust to collect in. These are just touches that may help. It’s a great design though. Great idea. Thanks Roger
I think it will work fine, i didnt bother with a dump pan because its not gonna see huge use and will likely only need yearly cleaning. Pull the front panel, replace filters and sweep dust and crap into a dust pan Thanks for your comment!
Thanks Mike, i appreciate that. Im gonna make another top that incorporates those electromagnetic locks for holding small stuff to the table like you did with your little one you made. Thanks for your comment!

Awesome video... really cool! Been thinking about doing one of these since i saw a video a while ago. Keep on with the content, i like that your never just doing the same thing.
Thanks Steven! I havent really put it to use yet, but im sure its gonna be a great addition to the shop! Im glad you like the different content, i get into all kinds of different projects, unfortunately youtube doesnt seem to like variety from a channel and they dont promote odd stuff like this on my channel as much as the standard videos. The channel is growing, but not as fast as id like..lol Tomorrows video is season 4 and we got some great ideas and changes that are gonna happen! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FabbinAdventures of course mate , I appreciate all the work you do into editing and building. What is a 15 min vid is actually 20+hours of work. From one builder to another keep it up 💪 zook life
This turned out awesome. Great job. I’m researching making one of these and this is a great resource. Is there anything you would do differently now that you’ve used it?
About the only mod i would do is make the grinding surface have a magnetic hold for small sheet metal or other projects. You can get magnetic door lock strips and inlay them in the top. Place your steel part down, flip a switch and have the part magnetically held down. I may do this mod yet. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks, the back panel has to come off to change the filters, but its a great time to clean the junk out of the bottom at the same time! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good Job I need to build me one I do a lot of grinding . But I need to have a vice to hold a lot of pieces I grind so I believe I need to make back and sides taller. any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, what i would change, (and i thought of doing it at the time but didn't) would be an electromagnetic vice to hold stuff while grinding, i may still do that, other wise it works great! Thanks for watching and commenting!

This is awesome. I'm working on something similar. I'm ducting a heavy duty shop fan and using an old filing cabinet as a starting point. I built a booth out of a fence to go over it. Think there's any issue with using it for painting as well as for grinding? Thanks. Btw I much prefer your channel over the fab series guy.
Not yet, ive been watching for that very thing and sofar the sparks are pretty well "out" by time they get down there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have about 30 hours into this one, imagine how much id have to charge! Mind you setting up video takes some time but say even 20 hours plus material! Im not sure i could price them low enough to sell! Thanks for watching and for your comment
Thanks Jason! I was runnin real short on time to get this project done, footage edited and have the video out for today. I will do a review on it after i use it some, but im sure its gonna work well!
Well it was cheaper that buying one already made, and it is pretry simple. I just like to build things, that way i can taylor the size and shape and usefullness the way i see fit! Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a cool and practical project! I like how you made the side deflectors fold down for a bigger project to grind on. Nice job!

Wow that is an amazing table. I hate the dust in my shop too. Maybe I will build this thing too. Thank you.
Im sure its gonna help keep the dust down, ive used it a couple times already and seems to work great!

We are getting concrete in the shop in spring!
This unit should help cut down on the damn metal dust getting in and on everything!
Turned out beautiful and I’m sure it functions perfectly
It does work pretty good....when i use it lol

I plan to build a table using your ideas and the fabrication series to build mine and using some of my ideas 💡, great work 👍
Awesome, they work well, ill be adding some electro magnetic strips to the table to hold small projects down.

Super clean build man!! Was looking for a wood dust down draft table but I think I will build this one. Will work for steel and wood!!
Thanks Steelrunner!
Yeah i use it for both also and it works pretty darn good and reasonably cheap to build!
