I purchased your repair video off your website and it claimed to cover my constant red light issue, but it did not, i tried to reach out to you on the website but never got a response. Can you help me decide if its the PCM board or the heating resistors or element? before i start ordering parts?
Great video!! Perhaps you can help me here. I just bought a Specialista Prestigio and cannot make it work. I have followed all instructions and the machine doesn't prime. No water comes out and the teacup light remains on. Called Delonghi technical support and I'm still waiting for their answer. It seems that the machine came with an airlock and have not found any info on how to get rid of it. Just trying this last resource before returning it to the store. I would really appreciate any comments or help. Thanks!!
Hi there, if this is a new unit definately take it back to the store for replacement. This is a common issue where the pump is just sticking usually from the manufacturing process and then the machine sits in a box and the pumps sticks and wont perform. When this happens I use a bellows to frocrs the water into the orfice the tank water feeds into. to do this you need a magnet taped to the back of the machine to mimic the tank in place. I would take it back to the store though- CG
Hello I got a La Specialista Prestigio E9355M in July 2022. After the learning time to setup this machine, I realized great expresso. Yesterday I did my first descaling procedure. Everything went great. I have some questions : 1. How can I be sure all the scale is gone (it is impossible to have a eye check inside) 2. I know the descaling agent is lactic acid, but I read there are more ingredients in the Delonghi EcoDecalck solution. Do you know the lactic acid concentration in this solution and what are the other ingredients ? 3. I read multiple blogs where it is written that it is a good behavior to make a weekly backflush on expresso machines to clean the brewing head. In the Prestigio user manual there is nothing written about that. The only time it is recommand to proceed with a backflush, is when the light switch on indicated it's time to clean the brewing head. For that you need the cleaning tablets. Is it possible to simply put some liquide dish soap (a little !) to clean the brewing head ? I suppose it can deloged the oily residues too, or am I wrong ? 4. What about using backflushes (without tablets, without anything instead water) weekly ? Will it damage the brewing head, the machine ? Is it worth ? How to complete a backflush in this case ? Simply by putting the blind filter and proceed like I want to brew an expresso ? where will the water drain ? I know this is a lot of questions, but I'm sure lots of people did have the same questions, and you seem to be the perfect person to ask for. I also hear that you already repair a lot of 9335 models. What was the main issue with that model ? Thanks a lot in advanced. Just subscribed and liked your vid.
Hi ML I can answer your questions in number order 1- the descale process is designed to be done before large scale happens and to be done regularly. just like changing oil in the car it will give you long life 2- You might want to connect with Delonghi on this one. I can tell you it is my preferred descale and I use it in other manufacture machines 3-4 I would say biweekly or monthly back flush is appropriate but just do it once the alert comes on / don't use dish soap you will taste it / doing it without a tablet and only using water will not do anything (its like changing you oil and putting the same oil back in) refer to the manual for the backflush (press and hold the tea button) the machine does the rest. and it is worth doing this process. Lastly, any cleaning tablets will work check your local espresso coffee retailer. I use Cafiza tablets found on Amazon I hope this helps Coffee Grump
Great videos. I am having trouble with the descaling light not turning off, I replaced both flow meters with no luck, only the hot water light and the descale light come on when powered up, no matter the knob positions. Water will come out when the hot water button is pushed, not hot though. All other buttons do not light or cause function. Any tips or videos covering a similar issue?
Purchased yesterday EC9355M Specialista Prestigio and returned for exchange today. First use cycle is not flowing water or steam on both machines. This is the second machine with the exact same issue. Saw some posts on "air lock" from other users that have reported the same issue. I can use some input from anyone thats had similar issues. Hard to believe 2 new machines have the same problem!
I got mine a few days ago with the same issue. Took out the water tank from behind and plucked off the water entry cross-hair grey thing at the bottom. Then i used a syringe (With no needle of course) to press against the plastic at the bottom and flushed several times. It worked right away afterwards. Hope this solves your problem
Yeah, unfortunately, this is a common issue right out of the box. This is what happens After being manufactured and packaged, sometimes the pump becomes sticky and needs a little help to start. these are vibration pumps so on my bench I use a bellow that will force water through (connect at the tank connection-machine side ) You will need to use a magnet to imply the tank is in place and force the water into the connection. The rumor of "has an airlock " is not true. The sticky pump is the true story.
Hello. Pls Help. I just vought mine. After turn on and did the first i struction. The presure guage is not moving or working. What could be the problem? Pls help. Thanks
Hello, I'm not sure what version of unit you have but if it is a Prestigio or Maestro try doing the back flush to force the gauge to move, if this doesn't work then it could be a bad gauge. If its under warranty definitely call it into Delonghi. CG
thanks for the tricks. my ec9335's steam light flashes constantly and never stops and doesn't get stable or steady when turning on the steam volume, so It doesn't make steam. what's the problem and how can I fix it?
Hey coffee grump, i have a specialista and the grinder seems to have packed in. Nothing happening when i put the basket into the grinder. Only a flahsing stamp light comes on.. have you any guidance for me
Hi, we have had something similar happen, as in the grinder just will not work/grind. We fix this by unplugging the machine from the power point, wait a few seconds and plug it back in, turn on and so far 100% working again. We assume that the machine is sensitive to power fluctuations and can get spiked easily.
My money would be a bad gauge, easy to replace. before doing so try and perform the back flush - I had it where it was a sticky gauge and the backflush forced it to unstick. if this doesnt work then replace the gauge.
Hello, Recently, my La Specialista keeps blowing the group head gasket. I’ve replaced it several times and it just keeps popping it out of place and water comes out all around it. There is no one local to fix it. This is becoming a berry annoying issue. Any ideas for me would be much appreciated!!
Hi Kathy, Give Delonghi a call and ask for your nearest repair shop, If it is under warranty they will ship you a box to ship the machine. If out of warranty you can contact the repair shop directly for after warranty repair. It does sound like you are in need of a good diagnosis Coffee Grump
I have found vinegar reacts differently to the scale and can cause blockages in the system. I have had to replace boilers and valves before because of vinegar. It just doesn't seem caustic enough and causes the scale to clog the system.
My la Specialista won’t stop grinding no matter what dose setting it is on. How can I troubleshoot this? Is it a sensor that might need replacing or cleaning?
Hi Please can you help me! I have the Delonghi Specialista EC933X. It has worked like a dream for 2 years and all of a sudden it is not working. I have removed to clean the defuser plate and have descaled twice. If I run it without coffee the water flows from the brew plate, but as soon as I put the porta filter on with or without coffee in it, the pressure goes sky high but nothing comes out. I have cleaned the tiny hole which is minute and cant even fit a pin through it but still nothing. When I remove the porta filter it is full of water but has not been pushed out by the high pressure? Can you help me?
Hey, sounds like the cup in the portafilter is clogged try a safety pin in the hole to clear it out. If you have the cup that separates take it apart. Pull the black rimmed insert out and clean it. A single coffee ground is enough to clog it. If these don’t work, I would purchase a new 2 cup or 1cup which ever one your having issues with. They are fairly inexpensive. Best, Coffee Grump
@@coffeegrump Thank You sadly I have done that and it has not worked. I do notice that my inside filter that goes' into the portafilter is not there would that make any difference>? If i just run the water without the filter it flows fine but if I put the filter on the pressure goes up and nothing come out! :(

Hi, just wondering if you use the water filter in these machines? I can’t find anywhere that shows how to install it for the La specialista prestigio?
Just push it inside the water Tank. There is a Spot for that.

Soon, I will make a video on flowmeters

Try a reset. Turn on the switch in the back. Disconnect the cable. Push OK. Wait 10 seconds befor connecting again.
