The Human Torch was supposed to be in Spiderman and his Amazing Friends along with Iceman. But the producers could not get the rights to use him. So they settled to making up a superhero just for the show, Firestar. I imagine that Spiderman and his Amazing Friends with Spiderman, Iceman and the Human Torch would have been pretty awesome.
Not to mention the fact Johnny left in his last will that Peter should replace him in the Fantastic Four in case he died (during the Future Foundation storyline) is truly a way to showcase how much their relationship is like... which is why I hate the modern Spiderman writer. Not just for the whole Paul fiasco self incert nonesense... but also for what they made Johnny as. For someone who was like Peter's brother from another mother, he sure didn't believe Peter right away when he was in a time of need and didn't watch out in his powers when he tried to hit him.
I still remember in the Ultimate Marvel comics when Peter got killed by the Green Goblin, a lot of heroes mourn for him. One of them being Johnny Storm, which after he heard the news of Peter died, he flies up and straight up exploding flames in anger, shattering nearby glass and windows around Johnny.
I always loved how Spidey was like family to the Fantastic Four, but I never thought about how their relationship started off rocky and grew to the point that it feels like it was always there. That's the beauty of long-running continuity.
Learning that F4 film is not taking place in Earth 199999/MCU (not calling it 616), I can see F4 letting Spider-Man join the family after everything he went through.
It is a shame the comics of Spiderman and the Human torch were barely referenced in the main issues of the amazing spiderman. His friendships with Daredevil, Captain America, Wolverine and Human Torch always get overlooked. Despite the fact they were indeed close. And sure he knew Ironman, Dr Strange and Mr Fantastic, but he wad never as close with them
I don't think he likes Iron Man all that much after Civil War... They're on good enough terms now, but I don't think they can really be close again. I wouldn't say he's all that close with Cap though. Definitely a strong mutual respect, but it's almost like he looks up to Cap too much to be close friends with him. Cap is his role model. I'd say he gets along pretty well with Doctor Strange, although he doesn't enjoy the mystic shenanigans that come with it. They're both Ditko creations so writers love throwing them together. Most notably they had ASM 500, "Happy Birthday." And I think their first team-up was Amazing Annual #2 waaaaay back in the 60s (I think it was a Lee/Ditko?) Not as early as Torch, Daredevil, or the Hulk (well he FOUGHT the Hulk), but still pretty early. Actually, I think he has a pretty good relationship with Hulk as well. In Amazing Annual #3, Spider-Man almost joined the Avengers, but they asked him to help find the Hulk. He ran away before they could explain that they wanted to help the Hulk, not hurt him, and when Spider-Man went after Hulk he realized he was just some dude who wanted to be left alone and wasn't actually dangerous. So he just lied to the Avengers and ran away again. I guess it's a bit of an idiot plot, like it's just one big understanding, but I kinda like that this is why he never joined the Avengers haha. (Also of note... Daredevil had a cameo in that issue, where he vouched for Spider-Man to the Avengers.)
It's definitely Johnny. Pete has some touching moments with Matt, and some friendly spats with Logan, but he has all those with the Torch, AND he goofs off with him.
Spiderman interacting with other heroes like this has always made me disagree with people thinking that the character works best in his own universe only

I've been wondering why Peter and Harry are best friends. In the Raimi Trilogy, it's because Harry protected him in High School. But in the comics, Harry is more of a weakling, and he's not as smart as Peter, because he needs Peter to help him study and it's why Norman prefers Peter over Harry.
I want it to happen... but Disney is still a thing. It would've been better to pair up Toby Maguire with Fantastic 4's (2000s) Human Torch to be good friends. It would've been a good crossover, and it would elevate the Fantastic 4. Marvel needs to embrace its entire universe in a new way so there can be room for the main heroes to crossover. Venom fighting Wolverine, Hulk fighting The Thing, The Fantastic 4 meeting the Black Panther, and all the fun poker games in between. Marvel can be fun, but Disney chooses not to be.

Harry didn't frequently treat Spiderman poorly in the movies and the tv shows. And James Franco's version of the character treated Spiderman poorly, because he thought that Spiderman had killed his dad.
