    🦅 Here's the deal, Tribe. We have a license to make alcohol - which is rare asset amongst TH-cam channels. I want to make a new series called "Will It Distill?" in which we do weird and interesting distillation experiments - and even attempt to make alcohol from ridiculous stuff.
    *** Shoutout to the OG TH-cam channel "Will It Blend?" for the inspiration.***
    The extra videos could be a fun supplement to the whiskey-centric stuff we do on Saturdays. But I need to convince the distillery team (mainly Daniel) that it's worth the extra taxes and record keeping - every time Crowded Barrel makes alcohol. I got him to agree to the idea if we hit 6,000 likes on this episode (which is insanely high for our content btw). Be sure to hit 👍 on this video if you think a "Will It Distill" series could be a fun way to explore the world of distillation. ~ Cheers

    the caretaker of our coffee farm used to make coffee "moonshine" from coffee molasses. the coffee beans go through the process of being cleaned, skin and pulp removed and later dried in order to get ready for roasting...well these processes leave a residue behind...that you might call molasses (like sugar cane molasses)...and that's what you would use to make this coffee drink...we call it "pitorro". its got a hefty amount of alcohol content that we never measured...we just got drunk off of it. but it did have a masked coffee flavor in the alcohol. good stuff though.

    The other thing that cold brew does is reduces the acidity in the coffee too. It also helps maintain more antioxidants in it as well. It's the same as boiling a vegetable takes out 90% of the vitamins from it. When you cold brew something, it doesn't add all the excess oils, thus lowering acidity.

    When the series happens (because it has to happen) can you do maple syrup

    • @Sembazuru
      @Sembazuru 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I was also going to make this suggestion. An extension would be to compare the results of using real maple syrup vs. the corn syrup based maple-flavored syrup. Might want to try the different grades of real maple syrup, but I would suspect that the fermentation and distilling process would negate any differences between the grades of maple syrup.

    Hmm, boba tea? Does it distill? I am curious about that, that would be a cool episode. And speaking of "will it ___" my favorites of those kinds of videos are your channel (which I just discovered) and Good Mythical Morning. "Will it taco?" or "will it ice cream sandwich?" or "will it deep fry?" are three that come to mind that I enjoy.

    Cold brewed coffee is very different than "normal coffee." The ground beans are brewed with "time" instead of "heat" during this process. The lack of heat results in an almost non-existent amount of acidity/bitterness. Cold brew is smooth and full of flavor because of the hours it takes to brew!

      Is there starch left in used coffee grounds that could be converted into sugar using malted barley or enzymes? ....... would be cool all the shops around my area give away there old coffee grounds if they can , I'd have a go at distilling them if I can convert them and not add sugar

    FYI Rex, connect your cold water inlet to the bottom of the jacket on the pot still, so the coldest water is closest to the spout. The setup you have looks like the cold water was coming in the top of the column where the hot steam sucks all of cold away almost instantly.
