That's why I love trays with raised edges! They keep little things secure in one designated spot, which reduces visual noise and makes finding the items and cleaning the area much easier.
Yeah , furniture with gaps are annoying ( even if you're willing to spend extra money on fancy trays and such so hopefully nothing will fall through a gap. )
I know, right 😂? Especially when one of the "essentials" are basic ass looking beigey ikea evoking *stools*. @@nano7586 The specific furniture to buy, yes. But the general advice like having multi-use tables/seating? No, it doesn’t have to be exorbitant. You can buy many of them fairly cheap at yard sales…
Omg!!! Those WINDOWS AND THE HEIGHT OF YOUR CEILING with those windows!!!!! I'm sooooo jealous!!!!! Lol My favorite are (I think they're called) microfeece? Or microfiber blankets :). Superrrrrrr soft (like the underside of your blanket;) But to each their own!
Are you also jealous of the brick wall that's like 6 feet from them? such a waste lol But if that were just a wall then the space would definitely feel way way worse
My favorite lighting source (after natural) are lamps! I’ve never been a big fan of bright overhead lights (headaches), and a nice lamp or two has always done the trick for me!
I miss having my very functional coffee table 😂 My daughter just turned 1 & she's learning to walk, which means anything she can reach on the coffee table is fair game! One day I'll have the living room of my dreams, but for the next few years, its all got to be bare & free of any choking hazards 😅
I was going to comment a joke about "ANY space? My house is a Ford Explorer lol" but actually these are more applicable than I expected XD Lighting is especially huge for carlife; I have a solar setup, so I can comfortably power small fans and plenty of nice efficient LED lamps, and there's something really comforting about having the whole inside lit up with nice warm lighting when I'm hanging out at night. I generally leave them on when I walk my dogs, so that when I come back and open the door and raise my curtain, it feels like coming back home to a proper house. And yeah, tables, any table -- never take for granted the luxury of having LEVEL SURFACES TO PUT THINGS ON! Anyone who's lived in cars or hilly campsites for any substantial period can attest to this lol. If anyone out there is embarking on carlife, trust me, prioritize some sort of level surface on which to put things, right after making sure you can sleep comfortably and before just about anything else.
I completely agree with all those!! I am presently redecorating my apartment, and am already including most all those recommended!! Plus, don’t forget, a great napping pillow somewhere convenient, too 😉 And I do smart bulbs that can be turned off by setting an hourly timer (to auto-shutoff in 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3 hrs, etc.); but, I love and appreciate the reminder [in this vid] that I could Instead have the lamps plugged into smart outlets, then have them on a predetermined On/Off weekly schedule, perhaps, as a different option!! 💡🤩👌🏽🙏🏽👊🏽
If you have pets, check the frequency of those smart plugs. You may not hear a buzz from them but your pets might and, prolonged, it can make them feel bad.
You’re space is truly inspiring! ❤ I ask though, would you recommend a few places or stores to visit? I’m starting to like wondering outside common retailers.
❤ chairs, smart bulbs, blanket. But only hanging lamps, a rollable coffee table with underneath storage. no useless deko things, only pictures and objects that celebrate my hobbies
Given the aesthetic, I was expecting typical wildly expensive, useless-to-most essentials, but I'm really pleasantly surprised and grateful for these tips. Thank you!
That coffee table - if anyone sits on one side (you can't be following one's guests around to stop them), the other side will flip up land throw everything into the air. This is because of where the table legs are positioned.
All that natural light you have is the best thing for any living space.

Well better then people having windows and balcony on the other side tbh. 😅
