My cousin took me to funny girls yrs ago. At the bar he told me to get a certain bottle of beer. When the bar”maid” bent over to get it, it was then I realised why it’s called funny girls lol.

We went to Blackpool twice a year for some years. We met some really nice people...not so nice ones are available everywhere...but we liked it a lot. Good memories of happy times...and those 'Illuminations' really are fabulous. Blackpool...we love you.
Yes Stephen the guy is Rob Wynn..ex mayor of Blackpool..he has the rose and crown..west coast rock cafe and brew room..used too have the pump and truncheon as well. Great vid as always 🌻

I went to funny girls back in 2003 for my mums 40th. Few of us went and we had a booth, was a really good night from what i can remember of it haha. Thanks for another fab video stephen 🙂
Been in Lulu's and Peek a booze quite a few times myself with my Trans friends, I'm not gay or Trans, and have always had a fantastic time, great friendly atmosphere in all these venues around Dickson road, and I've always felt safer and more comfortable in these places than most of the other bars and clubs around Blackpool

We’ve just had a few days in Blackpool our first break for 16 months and had a great time with brilliant weather just the tonic we needed after this nightmare we’ve been in. Great video👍, who needs foreign holidays 😂

Really liked the video but you are so brave cycling down Dickson Road bad enough in daylight hours but at night well i just would'nt, Blackpool the nightclub and pub capital of the UK, brilliant shot of the Tower and the Moon, stay safe Stephen.
It's a very colourful area. A friend of mine loves living round there as there is always something going on, but I wouldn't like to live there. If it wasn't for the alcoholics, druggies & other lowlife scallywags, it would be much better.

I lived in Blackpool, I remember the fire at Yates Bar (that long ago), fire started actually in the pet shop nearby.... last in Blackpool was beginning of July this year and the clubs and everything else was still busy. 😅😅 just mention that Blackpool promenade isn't good to walk your dog... especially early hours in the morning while looking for the car.

Thanks Stephen for an awesome nightlife video. I've been watching your tube channel for a long time (from New Zealand) and it is great to see more life back in Blackpool. The warmer days have brought the families back in droves and there doesn't appear to be a shortage of night-lifers also. You have Freedom Day coming up so hopefully all the partial and full lockdowns are behind the UK. Your photography is amazing and perhaps you could share a little montage at the end of your videos. Been in makellys showboat, north, central and south, shenanigans and garlands also been in gaiteys and the is it crushed velvet down near the pleasure Beach, looking forward to returning to Blackpool again in August for a week, certainly going to try a few more pubs too, been in the counting house too

Many a mad night in the 80’s with some of the old club, Jelly’s, Sands, Rios etc and who can forget the queuing up the steps to The Palace lol, those were the days❤️
The Palace nightclub in the 80s was awesome. With its largest moving light show in the world and every month or 2 the Hitman & Her would be there.
I loved the Palace, and especially Jellies in the mind 90s. I keep wondering if the space of the club is still there despite it having a hotel built over it? Anyone know?

Hi Mate This is my favourite video that you have done on Pubs and Clubs in Blackpool. I love the colours during the nightlife at places near the seaside.

been watching all your videos particualry the "lockdown" ones.....not so much now, but in ten plus years time this really will be a historical account of Blackpool in one of the strangest moments in our time...superb !

Another great video. I was a teen in the 80s, Blackpool was an utter mecca for its nightlife back then. Same in the 90s, then it slowly started going down. My nightclubbing days are over, and I sincerely hope Blackpool gets back to being a great place for a night out.

This lovely venue used to be the Magnificent ODEON CINEMA. But it's great that it is now Funny Girls Cabaret otherwise it probably would have been demolished and lost forever so big thumbs up to FUNNY GIRLS!!

I went to uni in Blackpool (about 15 years ago) and I remember the Blue Room very well and have been to many music nights at the Cedar Tavern. Never really ventured anywhere else.

Ahh, brings back some awesome memories from my days living in Blackpool in the mid 80s to early 90s. I'm watching this from Auckland, New Zealand these days which is a nice place but certainly not the place for the high life, they've got nothing like Blackpool. I'd love to have a good old night on the town in Blackpool when everythings open and people are everywhere just enjoying themselves.
We are originally from Manchester lived in Wellington for 8 years and now back in the Uk ready to move to Blackpool!!
I went to Yate's when I visited a couple times 20 years ago. Had a breakfast in Café in the morning and about 20 guys with broomsticks started fighting each other outside.

How many bars and pubs have been renamed? Scruffy Murphys? That's The Grapes! And who remembers the original Galleon Bar, that tiny basement bar near the Winter Gardens!
I do, I remember one of the rooms had angel fish wallpaper. Back then the place seemed a bit odd, now I would say loads of character 😀
