  • Jackie takes us on a journey from take off, to potential disaster to a safe landing in a unique and entertaining explanation of the new and proven technologies making our air travels safe. Jackie Carlon is Senior Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Piper Aircraft, Inc. in Vero Beach, Florida. Ms. Carlon is responsible for the company’s worldwide marketing and advertising programs. Additionally she coordinates the company’s external communications and serves as the company’s chief corporate spokesperson with the news media and at aviation events and venues throughout the world.
    Prior to joining Piper in 2007, she served as Senior Product Marketing Manager for FlightSafety International (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) in Vero Beach, where she was responsible for promoting and selling the company’s flight training programs throughout the world. Earlier in her career she was Customer Service Coordinator for World Airways in Herndon, Virginia, as well as for Air France in Washington, D.C.
    She is a member of the Wings Club and International Aviation Women’s Association. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    This is fascinating to hear how technology has progressed to where a potentially lethal event can be completely avoided. Losing consciousness at 23k ft and surviving! Amazing!
