  • Join me on a solo winter camp where I make a shelter with a tarp, use bushcraft to build a long fire with my axe, and spend the night alone in the woods. I hike in with my traditional canvas backpack which is full of my solo camping gear. I take a tarp for shelter, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, axe, bushcraft knife, billy can, tinder pouch, camp food, lantern, and general gear for a winter overnight in the UK. Thanks for joining me on the adventure! - Mike

Next time you make a soup like that , pop a little bit of rice in , it just makes it. The camera you're using makes all the colours so vibrant.

Pearl barley would work as well 👍 maybe less stock and some beer would add some depth.

You can also use polenta, or oatmeal. A little is fine, one or two tablespoons per serving.

If you want to break down camp, move camp, and see the forest by canoe, I advise making a trip to us here in Minnesota and see the Boundary Waters Canoe Area way up north! We do a yearly trip for multiple days, sometimes a week.. it's fun!

You need to come to Minnesota and do some ice fishing in one of our 10,000 lakes, maybe head to the Boundary Waters canoe area which borders Quetico park in Canada. We have many rivers you can do week long plus trips with or without maintained campsites. We have forests that are bigger than England which you can do dispersed camping. Our north shore of Lake Superior is always beautiful with huge lake trout, we are also home to the timber wolf, a very majestic beast, it's awe inspiring to hear them call each other during a hunt.

They have very relaxed trespass laws in Scotland too! Great video as always! Looking forward to what you have to share in 2019

@TAOutdoors what time do you usually set out for one of your ventures? It would be good to know to get a clearer idea of how long it takes to set up camp. I assume you must go quite early because you are also filming everything. When building in my camp, it takes hours to even gather enough wood to build things- finding, sawing, carrying, staking, making and lacing.

Mike, I am certain this could easily make the movie theater. Have you seen Into Great Silence? Similar in many ways. Watch it if you haven’t. You’ll see what I mean. The only thing I would say is that for a future solo movie or film, don’t comment for the purposes of explaining to the viewers what your doing. Keep the silence as much as possible. Keep everything else your doing though. Outstanding video. Really look into doing a film in theaters. The talent is already there. And Merry Christmas to you bro!
