Besides, Clara was probably older than the Doctor since she was around to save the Doctor since his time began. I can't see an infant Clara saving an infant 12 from some danger! Seriously though, I don't care about any of that. All I know is that I miss their comaraderie both on screen and at the cons.
I love 11 and Clara, but I think you really see how much they love each other with 12 and Clara. Personally, I think the Doctor and Clara had a stronger bond that the Doctor and Rose had.
What if all the episodes with Clara and the Doctor were actually 12 sitting in the diner telling Clara all the stories he had managed to find about them?
This is beautiful. The Doctor loved Clara so deeply. He felt a debt of gratitude that could never be repaid. But she didn't quite expect that. She just loved him fully. Was never jealous or possessive. I think just like River she understood that he was still an alien, and like the sun, and was content to simply bask in whatever warmth, comfort and protection he could give. She did get a little cocky by the end, which was her downfall, but she also knew the dangers they faced and that they wouldn't have forever.
I wonder what would've happened if in that restaurant she told him that she was Clara. Or if he invited her to travel with him in the TARDIS, thinking she was a random stranger, becoming his "next" companion, only to find out later that she was actually Clara all along. THAT would've been interesting.
That would have been great! but so many people would have been like "really writers? really?" that and Jenna's contract was up already. her final season was actually an extra season. :(
