School trips are essential. Chloe can lead a normal life, a life that is not completely dictated by dance. I still think she did an excellent job on her solo. The trip didnt effect anything.

It's about commitment and courtesy. IF you're not going to be there then you tell someone well in advance. And you don't just drop something last minute because a better offer comes up. That's rude. Abby is training professional dancers that will be employable and if a professional pulled that in a show they would have their contract terminated. Better they learn now. Not to mention, Abby is putting them against kid who train ten hours a day. Missing a rehearsal is a big deal.

If Christi knew that Chloe had already committed to the field trip she should’ve said no to the solo, or if she knew she had the solo she should’ve said no to the field trip. If it’s a camping trip that’s extracurricular, she should’ve not gone if she had other commitments.

She should’ve said something about the fact that it was something she was considering beforehand and if the week had already started she should’ve told Chloe no, or said okay I won’t do it this week. If you make commitments you keep them, or you give someone a heads up. It’s common courtesy.
It really doesn't make sense though. Overnight camping trips, especially in elementary school (like Chloe was), usually require the permission slip be turned in well before the trip takes place. Permission slip, parent meetings, all these things that mean it would've had to have been decided before the night before.
Christi did the right thing for choosing Chloe's field trip over dance practice. It's what makes Chloe happy and that's what matters. Through out the whole show Christi displayed great concern on her daughter's happiness, rather than how much she achieved in competition. She set a good example of how parents should prioritize things for their family.
If you watch the real episode on lifetime you’ll see that when Maddie blew Chloe a kiss that Chloe said I love you to Maddie right after I thought that was so adorable they have an amazing friendship ❤️❤️❤️❤️
