I bet those pipes work better than your scissors and knife. ;-)

They look ok but the bush hole in the ring caps look too narrow.

I sometimes wonder if people think these are supposed to be Great Highland Bagpipes. I did have to bore out the blow pipe, because I couldn't physically blow enough air through it to inflate the bag !

Hi Ray, do you have a link to the parlor pipes you purchased, or the name of the UK seller? I have been looking on eBay UK for parlor pipes/half size pipes, but the nearest I can seem to find are listings for pipes that describe them as "full size half sets of highland bagpipes!" (Didn't know there was such an animal...)
I have watched your other videos showing what you have accomplished with your parlor pipes- very impressive! I have always viewed Pakistani pipes as essentially semi-finished bagpipe kits, well worth the time and effort to get them playing properly.

      Unfortuneatly ... I don't,
I purchased these off of ebay and the seller disappeared. I just bought the cheapest parlor pipes I could find at random, just to show they could be made playable.

It costs a lot of effort to make them run properly.

Do you have a link to the item? I'm looking to get a practice set for my young boys. How did they sound?

I wouldn't recommend these for regular use. Look up Bagpipes Galore! Their practice pipes work every time you pick them up.

Did moving away from Paducah put this crazy idea in your head? :D Seriously though, As you found out, the drones are usually not so terrible with some of the Sialkot Pakistani sets, all things considered. Especially the Mid East Manufacturing ones. The chanter is invariably a nightmare. I keep my vintage Hendersons Hardies, and Lawries to play, and stuck the Pakistani pipes on the wall for decoration. I made a chanter stock adapter to use my long practice chanters with the bag and blowpipe as a practice goose. BTW, I still use the old style rubber and leather flapper valves on my pipes. Remember the old "Little Mac" valves? Guess that I'm an old fuddy duddy.

Saxismyaxe SOTW Nope, I just thought it would be an educational excersize. I'm still not done with them yet. My schedule doesn't work with everybody elses right now for recording. THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING !

Do you happen to know what size and brand of reed that would work? My wife knows I love bagpipes but she doesn't know much about quality... so she if you can believe this .. bless her heart, she picked green beans all summer long and caned up about 65 jars and traded for these same bagpipes that someone had ,and on my birthday she said surprise!!! So I bought some Ebay special reeds. Lol and yeah the size was completely different. Any help would be really really appreciated. Thanks!

I would have to see a picture of your pipes. If the drone reeds you got were Waaay .. too big, then most likely you have practice pipes. The Drone Reeds I use are from Bagpipes Galore! and the chanter reeds I normally use are from Gibson. You can look on ebay for the cheapie Pakistani practice chanter reeds, just be forwarned the quality is iffy, it's normal to get a good chanter reed 1 out of 5. But it's been awhile since I've bought chanter reeds off of ebay... Things could have improved.
