Great video, like all the other on the channel! Just to know, can I ask you what was the water temperature and what kind of wetsuit you were using to swimming? I'm planning to start wild swimming in wetsuit (in these period I regularly go on SUP) and I currently own a 3mm wetsuit, before buying a thicker one I'd like to get an idea of what are the "standard temperatures" related to neoprene thickness... of course it depends on every person, but just to know if with something not thicker than a 3mm I could afford to go swimming with water temeprature lower than 15° 🙂

Hello! Sorry for the delay in replying! So Jay was wearing the Zone 3 Agile wetsuit. He was planning to do a little video on wetsuits today but the storm has put a stop
To that. Hopefully will have it done by the end of the weekend. The long and short is that anything thicker than 3mm will be probably a little too thick! You would restrict your movements. Swimming wetsuits are generally thinner and never really more than 3mm as you are more often than not constantly moving, vs a surf wetsuit where you are often sitting still on your board exposed to the elements, and therefore would need a thicker one!

Does anyone know why the after drop happens? Is there a scientific reason or is it just the process of switching clothes in cold air?

Hi there...So the its to do with more being submerged in cold water than the changing part. When you get cold you blood will go to your core to protect your vital organs. If you try to warm yourself up too quickly like with heater that blood will then rush to your skin to actually try and cool your skin down: leaving your core still cold. It then takes up to 20 minutes or so to re warm all of your blood Ince you have got changed that then circulates through your body and warms the rest of you. So its really that after getting out of the water your circulating blood is still cold and will take while to warm that up and then warm up your body! I hope that makes sense!
