I've tried simulknit a dozen times but it keeps dropping stitches. I've tried various yarns. But none of them work Any suggestions. My sponge bars are fine.
ebay sometimes. and ravelry sometimes. but these Toyotas are getting harder and harder to find. they are not as abundant as the Brothers. rare, I guess you could say.
oh, also, try Newton's Knits in southern california. Norm might have some connecting arms. he has some replacement parts and was a Toyota dealer for decades. until about 8 years ago he had a few brand new never used Toyota 950s which are a later version of the 901 and have the same ribber the 506 and the carriage is interchangable on the main bed except that the 950 has the ability to do lace built into the carriage whereas the 901 requires a companion lace carriage for stitch transfers. that's essentially the difference between the 901 and 950
Thank you for that I wondered what simulknit was, it would have been good if you could have focused more on the settings on the carriages. Still great video. Thank you.
just Toyota 901, 950 and the 506 ribber. all other makers have inferior results leaving the second color showing through. Even Passap and Superba don't quite match.
I really wish you would have had threading the carriage on camera instead of off to one side. Would have been nice to see, not just hear. Apparently a Singer 360 with Ribber does a similar thing.
Sorry, it's hard to see what the camera sees And try to keep your hands out of the way too. The Sk360 does it too (I have one) but you have to repunch the card. With the Toyota, no repunching necessary. Any fairisle card works as is.
+Vivianne Knits Thanks Vivianne, I am in Australia so am trying to work out what fingering weight is equivalent to but Google is telling me 8 ply yarn, which is too thick for a standard machine leave alone a double fabric! (google doesn't know everything ) It said that lace weight is around 2ply and 3ply, so I guess that would be correct. I read somewhere that simulknit could be done in a 4ply and was wondering if this is correct? Julie
Beautiful. I am looking for a Toyota 901 complete Video tutorial. Are there more?
Большое Вам спасибо за познавательное видео.

Did you ever figure it out? I have the same issue😅
Fraid not. But the video I'm watching will help I'm sure.
Hello I just bought a knitting machine Toyota ks 901. The metal part is missing to connect the two carts. Do you know where I can find it ?

Hi Vivianne, does this work on other knitting machines or just the Toyota 901 with 506 ribber?

hello i have toyota ks.787. More than 20 years.I don't know how to make drawings and shapes can someone help me
Can I ask What ply yarn is best for simulknit?
+julie N I used Wooklike. It'a fingering weight acrylic yarn sold in Michael's. I'd say fingering weight or even lace as the fabric is double thick.

I loved the video but the sound quality was poor and couldn't hear your demonstration. Can you up the sound?
Unfortunately I can't. I've looked but I think I'd have to redo it and up the sound before uploading. Sorry.
Try upping the sound on your machine or, possibly, using headphones. I can hear it ok.
