- Welcome to the World of Zabbez. In this video I show you how I knit on my simple Knittax knitting machine. An old vintage machine that is perfect for beginners and a lot of fun to knit on. Knittax knitting machines were also branded in some countries under Knitking.
Enjoy!

Thanks for this video! It gives a really good overview of what a simpler type of knitting machine can and can't do.
I am really happy to hear that, thank you. It is a lovely simple machine.
Loved this video! You are an excellent teacher! I have hand knitted for years and wanted to try a knitting machine. I found a Bond Ultimate Knitting Machine to learn on. Your explanation was far superior to any I have watched. Looking forward to see what you show next.
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear that. The Bond machines are great knitting machines. I am sure you are going to have a lot of fun on that machine 😀
Thank you for your wonderfully clear yet detailed instructions, I looked at so many videos but was still stuck. It also helps that your close shots are excellent. I have a Bond Sweater Machine I picked up second hand years ago but have never been brave enough to try.
You are very welcome, thank you. And yes it can be scary to start on a knitting machine sometimes. But it will never get less scary, so just go for it and see if you like it. Good luck! 💪🏻😀
Good morning from Greece. Can you tell me please were you found the bond machine?
Thank you.
As someone who knows how to hand knit and machine knit, I wanted to say, ‘Well done’. This will be useful to so many trying to make sense of their own machines. Both the video and instructions are very clear. Good job. I’m subscribing just to enjoy your presentations. 😊
Thank you so much, I am really happy to hear that. More content is coming. Have a great day! 😀
These were licensed by Knitmaster, made in the UK by Knitmaster. Great machines! They were made between the early 50s to the late 60s, then the Japanese machines really became dominant place. Knitmaster stopped producing their own and just used their name on Silver Seiko (Silver Reed) machines.
Yeah, great machines indeed, love these 🥳 Isn’t it intriguing how knitting machines evolved and how brands in different countries put their names on all kind of machines. It’s fascinating 😀
Ooh man!!
I've never liked knitting with needles, so someone suggested a knitting machine. Thank you for the demonstration. It does look like something I could do. 😊
You are very welcome, I think knitting machines are a lot of fun. Just go for it :-)
Discovered a knittax m2 while cleaning out the attic in the chalet of my husband’s family in Switzerland. It was purchased in 1954. I was soooo excited to find these videos! I’m a hand knitter but super excited to try out this machine which seems identical to the one you are using.
That is a very cool discovery! The Knittax M2 is an amazing knitting machine, I am sure you will have a lot of fun knitting on it 😀
Hands down the best video on machine knitting by far!
Thank you so so much
That is a really big compliment, thank you so much 😀
Hartstikke goeie uitleg, Bas!!!

Great teaching!
My first time seeing tutorial on how to use this knitting machine. Now I know it is doable.
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much. It is definitely doable. And a lot of fun also 😀
@@ZabbezOriginal Thank you very much! ❤️
This is a very good tutorial video, very well presented with cler instructions. I hce 2 of these machines, a M2 and a Knitmaster 4500 which is the same.
I hope you will continue making videos for this machine, and if you do not mind, a maintenance/refurbishing one would be great! Thank you
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear that! Request about maintenance is noted 👍🏻 although I am working on some other projects first.. more to come.. 😜
Please show us more. This video is great. Well done and congratulations for making a wonderful video.
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear that. There are more video's on the way 😀
Thank you so much for this video. I have been struggling with my prazisa machine and your explanation of the sinkers made all the difference.
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear that. Yeah, Prazisa is the same kind of machine, works the same 😀
You’re a great instructor!❤ I am looking to up my game with my LK150. Hoping you’ll release plenty of videos and will get loads of views and followers. Hugs from Provence 🎉
Thank you so much, that is very sweet. The LK150 is also a great machine! And I have several more video’s planned so stay tuned 😀
@@ZabbezOriginal that’s awesome news! Have a wonderful day! Adrien
Super!
I am so happy to hear that, thank you. I wish you a lot of fun knitting on your machine 😀
Hi Bas, thank You so much for your effort in making this video. I have two of these machines one of them with a ribber. Now I finally know how to work correctly with them. I like those old simple machines and find it very sad, that there is only few interest in using them. I like them from an aesthetic point of view. I tried but couldn’t find out how to use them correctly. Thank You so much for showing me.greetings from Germany .Kirsten
I am really happy to hear that Kirsten, thank you. These machines are wonderful, so basic, yet they can knit so much. I love it 😀
This was excellent, I have a Knit king 4500. I love this machine, it's simple and very fun to use. I would like to know more about yarns and tensions. I subscribed too. Looking forward to more knitting information.
Thank you! Request about yarn and tension is noted 👍🏻 although I am working on some other projects first 😜 These machines are so much fun to knit on, totally agree with you!
Thank you so much. Yes, the Strickfee is the same kind of machine. Works the same way. It is a lot of fun to knit on 😀
Great video! Thank you so much!
And thank you for your nice message. Happy to hear that, thanks! 😊
Great instruction. Thanks so much
Thank you, I am happy to hear that 😀
That is such a cute machine!
Thank you, indeed it is a very cute machine 😀
I have the knit star version….love the technology in this machine. The sinkers work extremely well and considering its age, it works so much better than machines I have used with overhead tensioners
Yeah, the sinkers work great! Especially for short-rowing socks ;-)
That's a very neat machine! And Great video!
Thank you so much, happy to hear that 😀
Very well explained...thanks for sharing !!! 😀
Thank you, I am very happy to hear that! 😀
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I just subscribed to your channel! I am going to start shopping for my own machine! This is amazing
Thank you so much, makes me really happy to hear that. Machine knitting is great! 😀
Thanks for this video! I inherited an old knittax, but didn't use it yet, so very helpful for me to see!
I am happy to hear that. These Knittax machines are great fun. They are old, but still very good today 😀

Thank you for your nice reply, I am really happy to hear that 😀
🎉❤😊
Hoi Bas, goeie video, uitstekende (engelse) uitleg, super.
Thanks for the video. There seem to be few videos on this particular knitting machine, but it is the type that I have (under the KnitKing brand).
Yes they were also branded under KnitKing. Lovely machines and I have some more video's planned with this machine :-)
Great video, I actually really enjoyed it even though I only have a Sentro. 😂 Very well done and very tempting (note to self: mustn't buy one now!!). Have a great day.
Hahaha indeed! 🤣 Thank you very much and have a great day too! 😀
How I enjoyed this! I knitted a lot on such a machine that I bought from an old lady many years ago. Unfortunately it was stored a place where mice chewed at it, so it was ruined. The mice actually chewed the plastic sinkers! I wish it could be fixed as it is still in the attic. I just sold a newer machine because it was not good for my shoulders and neck
Mice chewed the plastic sinkers.. that sounds very unfortunate 😳 I hope the machine can be fixed and you are able to enjoy it again 😘
I might be able to 3d print them. Interested?
I would love to see Passap-D operation.
I have this machine, but no instruction book available, and your explanation of the machine is excellent. Hope you make more videos to explain how the different jobs are for. May I ask where in the Netherlands you are situated?, I live just south of Oslo in Noorwegen. Groetjes van Kenneth.
Thank you so much, I am happy to hear that! And yes, more video’s about this machine are in the making 👍🏻 I live in The Netherlands, in the city of Rotterdam. Was in Norway on holiday two years ago for the first time, a beautiful country, loved it. Unfortunately didn’t visit Oslo 😀 Groeten!
@@ZabbezOriginal my town is much nicer, called Horten.
Very nice tutorial. Maybe now I'll try the used knitting machine a friend gave me. But she was told it drops stitches, and I didn't want frustration, so haven't tried it yet.
Thank you so much 😀 And indeed, no one likes frustration, I hope it will work out for you and your machine will be a lot of fun!
your and your lovely knittax make it look so polished and easy, May I ask what model? thank you
Thank you so much. It is the Knittax M2 model 👍🏻
Thank you for responding, how long ago did they stop production? It is sad because this looks like a very substatial machine and good for beginners as well as advanced@@ZabbezOriginal
Thank you for the great video.
Where else can you buy a knitting machine like this?
Since I always hand knit everything, this model is very good for a beginner.
Thank you! I see this and similar machines regularly on second hand sites, you could try that. They are a lot of fun to knit on. Good luck! 😀
Love this video ❤.Where can I buy this machine ?I realllly need it for making outfits .
Thank you so much. These knitting machines are vintage and are not produced any more. You can find them in second hand stores and online on second hand sites. Good luck! 😀
This is the exact same one that I have ! So far I have made rectangles and decreases, next are increases and then a garment 😎 Although when I set mine on the table the needles tend to slide to the back, is this normal ?
Cool! Before you know it, you will be knitting garments like a breeze 😜 The needles should stay in place. Sounds like a worn out needle retainer thread. You can unscrew the machine and replace it, or you can just leave it. The machine will still knit beautifully 😀
Awesome thanks!
I wonder if you can make socks in that machine?
Yes you can knit socks on this machine. Beautiful socks! 😀
Thank you so very much for your reply
LO SIENTO. PERDER EN MÁQUINA PIERDE TODA LA GRACIA, PARA MÍ, CLARO.😕
Great video! But I get really frustrated with these knitting videos, because what's the point of watching them if those machines are almost if not impossible to find.
Thank you so much. And sorry to hear you get frustrated in your search for a machine. I hope you will be able to find one some day! Good luck!
Idk about you, but I watch just to be able to watch somebody else use it. I can’t afford half of the knitting equipment that I see on YT, but I like watching others
Google it, you’ll find it! ❤
I was OBSESSED with these things. Watched dozens of videos to learn how to use them so that I would be ready when and if I ever got one. I checked Kijiji and marketplace constantly, but the only machines there were so pricey I could never afford one. After a year I pretty much gave up. And then I walked into a thrift shop in a small town and they were selling one! For TEN DOLLARS! All the parts were there. No ribber, but whatevs. I got one. They ARE out there. Keep your eyes open for estate auctions and small town garage sales and thrift shops. Hang in there!
