Immensely enjoyable music from the stalwarts - the Kedaragaula raga bhava as only MDR can bring to life!

unusual and outstanding! mdr explores the higher octaves (melstayi) - unusual for him to do so in such detail. I wonder who the violinist is - outstanding, and supporting the vocalist so positively. and of course, the mrdangam! OUTSTANDING

I am inclined to agree with the view expressed here that the violin accompaniment to this great performance does not reflect Prof TN Krishna’s style ... A rich and resonant rendition of Kedaragowla by the unparalleled MDR who reaches higher octaves with an uncharacteristic intensity and to that extent his voice appears to get slightly strained as the Kriti progresses towards Pallavi and anupallavi ...but the pristine purity of the raga and the Bhakti Bhava remains undiminished to the end, concluded with a specially melodious, brilliant and highly complex Swara prasthara...An unforgettable performance in every respect . And what a memorable percussion accompaniment!
    Thanks for sharing...
