    I was very positively surprised when I visited Warsaw and other polish cities, people here in Czechia say that Poland is ugly, grey place because they have been there 50 years ago at Baltic sea, but vice versa is true, I can say that Vienna is boring grey city, but definitely not cities in Poland, it can look slightly outdated or retro-ish in some places, but it's retro in good meaning, I liked it there and I will definitely return one day. Warsaw is modern city where I felt like in some sci-fi with all those skyscrapers, you can even buy train tickets from machines even with seat reservations and such things, that's really sci-fi for me as Czech. Krakow was nice historical city, but I am used to such things as Czech, so Warsaw with skyscrapers and all those soc-realistic structers from 50s was more interesting for me. Gdaňsk is slightly 90s looking more far from center, but in center it's perfect example of very decent and tasteful combination of modern and old architecture, it looks really great. In Wroclaw I felt like home, it's literally a Czech city, just on wrong side of border, everything feels like home there and they still use all those classic looking trams with nice vžžžžžžžž sound when accelerating, it was like I am 12 years old again and traveling by tram in Prague. 🙂
    I wish there was better train connection to western Poland from Prague, I don't like buses.

    It looks like you had a fantastic day in Warsaw.
    I'm planning a family trip to Poland next summer, so videos like yours are a great way to research for my trip. I haven't visited Poland in years, so I'd like to make the best of my time there next year. Hopefully going for a month. However, I have been following several TH-camrs who spent 3+ months in Poland and it seems like they only scratched the surface. It's quite a varied country that offers a perfect blend of historical and modern sites, spectacular cities, beautiful towns, castles, and amazing nature.
    Just a few quick notes regarding your Warsaw adventure.
    Yes, that big white and red (like the colors of the Polish flag) stadium in the distance was indeed the national soccer stadium.
    The tomb of the unknown soldier in the Saxon Gardens is located in the only remaining portion of the once grand Saxon Palace (you can look up the pre WWII photos of the palace on the internet.) Just like the majority of Warsaw the palace was sadly destroyed by the Germans in WWII. There are talks of rebuilding it. I would definitely love to see it brought back to its former glory.
    Other wonderful gardens in Warsaw are Royal Lazienki Palace and Garden complex as well as Wilanow Royal Castle and Garden conplex. Warsaw, as the rest of Poland, is very green.
    The street you entered past the old town is called Krakowskie Przedmiescie. It then turns into Nowy Swiat and it is the old royal route that leads to Lazienki and then Wilanow.
    Zurek soup is definitely delicious. I enjoy quite a variety of different cuisines, but I think Poland comes up on top when it comes to soups. They are unbeatable.
    You noticed a lot of young people. There is a big university, University of Warsaw near the area you visited. The campus is worth checking out, especially its library and its gorgeous rooftop gardens.
    Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching your Krakow video next!

    • @robson2939
      @robson2939 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Wee Tio That's why I wrote that, cause people usually refer to those countries as baltic states but in the US most people probably don't know that Poland is the baltic state. I wanted to say that it is the biggest baltic state but there is also Sweden which is also a baltic country

    • @roberto7856
      @roberto7856 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stop spreading that bullshit, you geographically illiterat. The "baltic states" refer only for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Even not for Finland or Sweden. Aand all those 3 small countries are not Slavonic like Poland, but Balts, that's from their geograpgical name is derived from.

    Hi Jeff, We really appreciated you mentioning the temperatures in celsius for us. We smile each time. A travel tip for you if you decide to travel to Germany is to go to Koblenz. A few years ago we took a day trip river cruise from the promenade to the Loreley Rock . On that cruise you see the majority of the castles that you would see on an expensive ??weeks river cruise.
    We stayed at the Hotel Morjan on the promenade.

    If you know, assuming you do prior research before going to a new city, that there is something awesome (i.e. a sculpture, paintings or something similar) then I would say definitely go inside cathedrals/churches, but if they are plain and nondescript skip 'em.

    You say "some of this was rebuilt." Actually, all of it was rebuilt. Warsaw was flattened by the Nazis. Leveled. It was so destroyed, they almost abandoned the city to create a new capitol. They decided to begin a massive rebuilding program. Using old paintings, photographs and personal memories, they created a perfect reproduction of the old city. It still looks a bit new. Give it another 20 years to get some patina.

    Hello, 🌷🌹May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
    God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
