Are you installing the Desmond in opt directory? If yes then you need to install it from super user account. type sudo -s --> it will ask for root password Then go to Desmond binaries directory ./INSTALL Now it should not asked for permission denied
@@leahdavis6265 Yes you can setup the software in your home directory and you don't require root access for that. However, if the machine has multiple users and all the users want to use Desmond from there account then you need to install that in opt. I would suggest to make your system a dual boot instead of running it on Windows under linux subsystem.
What can we do if the computer does not pick up the desmond license?
If it's a academic Desmond obtained from D.E. Shaw website as shown in the video then it should pick the license automatically.
