19 year old, already well known, already engaged. Launched headfirst into fame and life barely out of childhood. That couldn't be easy.

I was enjoying listening to Agnetha's voice, disappointed that I didn't understand the language but then I discovered SUBTITLES!!! What a joy!!!! 19 year old Agnetha, already engaged to Bjorn. She was a star in her own right, even before ABBA. I was 8 years old, growing up in Australia when this interview took place. Australia discovered ABBA in 1975 when Molly Meldrum showed some of their music videos (from the "ABBA" album), on his show, Countdown. The WHOLE country fell in love with them and soon we had the 1976 tv special, "ABBA Downunder", which had more viewers than the moon landing! I was about 14 when I fell in love with ABBA and have remained a devoted fan ever since.... now aged 60.

I remember everything you said about Australia getting into ABBA in a BIG way via the videos that Countdown played ( particularly Mamma Mia and SOS ) .. and then that TV special, which as you stated was massively popular .. The station that played it here in Melbourne had to put a repeat of it on within days due to huge public demand .. I was about 17 then .. I'm 63 now, and like you I became lifelong fan from that wonderful time onwards .. Love them !

This is a young Agnetha Falskog who shortly will be recognized as having Perfect Pitch that is Pitch perfect along with an astounding B2 - F7 range., one of the VERY few in POP music in over 45 years. Check out her Jesus Christ Super Star performance when she was 19 years old .

It's so rare to find an old Agnetha/ABBA interview that has intelligent questions - this one is so calm and nice and you can tell Agnetha is comfortable. In having listened to their music, I never realized how sweet her voice is until hearing this interview. In all honesty, while she does sing well, it does it no justice to hear from the way her voice is like in this interview, but also it was in much earlier years.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS !!! My grandma got the single "Concerto d'amore" as a gift from her sister, which was something special because we lived in the GDR and albeit ABBA records were available, it was not that easy to get Agnethas solo records. I still can remember that my grandma loved it to listen to her Schlager music. That's when I fell in love with her voice, somewhen back in the 70s.
Amazing. This sounds as fresh like it was only recorded yesterday.

Since Agnetha references Björn as her fiancé and the song “Concerto d’Amore,” this could not have been an interview from 1969. She met Björn in 1970.
Both the German and the Swedish version of the song ("Det handlar om kärlek") was recorded in 1969. From 3:22 and onwards in the video, Agnetha speaks about her Swedish tour "Top 69", and that Björn was her fiancé at that time. The Swedish newspaper Expressen published a story about that tour on Oct 13 1969. The picture of the couple in the article speaks for itself.
