Frida will always be my favorite in my opinion as far as her beauty goes she is one of the rare beauty that seem to look older when they were younger and looks younger as she got older if that makes sense lol

You can see, why when I lived in Sweden during 1972 and 1973, I didn't watch much TV! Yes, I met Agnetha in June 1972, just before ABBA became ABBA. Back then, she had a gap between her front teeth and a broader nose.

with only about 6 million swedish talkers in the world, they had to branch out and sing in english. they performed some of their hits in german too, among other languages

I was born the week People Need Love was released in Sweden (their first hit), and now work as "Benny" in an Abba tribute, but I've never seen most of these, thanks for posting. Frida's Baby Love was interesting without the swing beat and played straight (unlike the backing singers!)

Five years older than Agnetha, Frida had been a band singer, music video star, popular regular television personality and recording artist. She had also acted, modeled, made a film, studied voice under an opera singer and dance with a professional instructor. She was by far the most professionally experienced of the group.

The women's solo recordings in those days didn't have such a marginalized sound as Bjorn. Bjorn sounds so.....hmmm Swedish here; It's still fun though to step back in time and outside the box and realize the miraculous change they went through. The same thing happened to Diana Ross and the Supremes. They sounded like !@#$ when they first started.

It's obviously meant to be a jokey Cabaret version since there weren't two other girls to be The Supremes. The guy on the right is Lennie Norman, the son of Charlie Norman whose show that was. On the excellent ABBA documentary 'When Four Became One' he says "She was in another league" and destined for bigger things. He was right. A better choice for an early TV appearance of hers would be the very first one in 1967. 'En Ledig Dag' is a stunning debut on a live TV show.

In today's insane Sweden ABBA would have never made it because they would be 'too white' I guess. And their lyrics? What about 'Mamma Mia' for instance: She's been cheated and she forgives the phallocratic pig? Outrageous! The progressive ridiculous government/media/status would never allow this! The song probably would have never been released! So good they had a career in the 70's and managed to become a legend! At least we have their great songs from back then to remind us how great music can be.

None of these people were known outside Scandinavia before ABBA and before they started recording and performing in English. ABBA was quite the necessary vehicle to make them the worldwide superstars they became in the 1970s
