Deapite being a general supporter of this govt. I'd say this project has compketely failed. Even bjp is unabke to tackle corruption. Something solid needs to be done.

Water, energy, gas smart meters, under ground cables, remote control of meters, usage based pricing, full electricity reliability, smart transportation, pedestrian and cycling paths, underground drainage system, remote control of home energy, efficient lightening etc these are aspects of smart cities. What these people are doing is laying new roads, painting public walls, decorating cities. Surely smart cities are well maintained but thats how municipality have to maintain all the cities there is nothing smart about it. I stayed in one of the smart cities where they started with gas pipelines with meters, under ground drainage. There is still a long way to go. But our urban system is not planned well from the beginning so now its difficult to make them smart. The new upcoming cities like Gift city, amaravathi etc can be made truly smart.
Is the Smart City project really happening? I don't think anything like that is going on.
Check the website for smart City for each smart City . Lot of Work has happened

The city has indeed seen development after 2017 especially along certain areas.
Tajganj area was historically inhabited by workers of tajmahal hence it's congested due to old homes.
On other hand regions like fatehabad road, sikandra, kamla nagar have benefitted well from town planning.
I am also from agra rural district, and Fatehabad is indeed developing
Likewise. I am also an agraite and this city gets better everyday
Smart City means basic facilities to all the residents n easy access to maintenance,to make the person on duty responsible.But what they did,they just decorated the city which has nothing to do with basic facilities.
In pune all sewage system nd water supply is connected to grid which can be tracked on scade system....
@@YTry1of course u are duffer, under jal jeevan mission govt provided 77% of households of tap water, it was 33% in 2014. It called change

Indian bureaucracy doesn't have capability to implement such projects, they are incompetent and local politician did lots of corruption in smart citiy projects.

Civic sense cannot be taught to Indians, it can only be forced on us. Along with implementing such schemes severe punishment and penalty provisions should also be made for better result and sustainability.

The idea of smart cities is not about improving the physical infrastructure but changing the attitude of people towards their own environment and not simply depending on the govt. Till that happens, this initiative will always lag in therms of progress.

You should look at parts of Bangalore ( considered a global city ) but in most parts I don’t see bbmp even cleaning the roads

We are questioning government on failure of the smart city project. I admit it. But where there some work has been done. They are being wasted and getting destroyed by locals from there. Till when we will blame government for everything. Is it not our moral responsibility to preserve what the government has done to our benefits. Forget the smart cities.This government stinks from autocracy and illusions of grandeur. Their newly constructed grand vista is next to Yamuna river. The same Yamuna River in Delhi faces severe pollution issues due to the discharge of sewage and industrial waste. Approximately 3,296 million liters per day (MLD) of sewage and industrial waste are added to the Yamuna, which translates to roughly 3.3 million tonnes per day. Jai ho yamuna ji. 🙏
