Okay, so as a person who is from Newfoundland, CANADA, I need to make some corrections here on your history of the Labrador retriever.
1) they originated in Newfoundland and Labrador which is a PROVINCE of Canada, not the US.
2) the were originally named the St. John's water dog. The name was changed after they were brought to England from our island.

St. John's water dogs are actually a very different now extinct breed, labs are descended from them, but a separate breed

They do dna testing now to make sure silver labs are pure lab and aren’t Weimaraners because of this

Yes! They are still purebred Labs. I have 2 AKC Labrador Retrievers whom had a silver parent. Years ago,I also had an AKC mastiff with a long coat. Both parents were retired show dogs,but carried the recessive "long hair" gene.

Purebred Labrador Retrievers comes in only 3 colors. Yellow - Black - Brown. Yellow in some variations from nealy white to dark yellow (fox)

I think your right man I got “chrocal lab” and I swear he has some wymer in him I think that’s how they get the silver colour. Shits all weird and miss leading lmao well I’m stuck with him now but yea idk
