Jimmy G played like 1.5 games with McCaffrey. Deebo and Kittle were getting hurt left and right over the course of his time as QB. Also, clearly Aiyuk has improved a ton. Congrats Purdy, you're slightly better than Bum Ass Jimmy G. I have a hard time deciphering whether 49er fans actually think that Purdy is great, or whether they're just insecure and trying to push the narrative to try and convince others.

Brock Purdy is currently 66%(!) for pass attempts 20+ yards or more. That's the highest deep ball Cmpl% since they've tracked the stat. The previous high point was Tua Tagovailoa last year at 54.5%. Brock is currently 11+% higher than the previous NFL deep ball Cmpl% record. Dak Prescott threw a longest pass of 39 yards against the Eagles, and the media made a ruckus and pronounced Dak as the MVP frontrunner. Meanwhile, earlier that day Brock threw a 54 yarder, a 45 yarder and a 41 yarder - 3 deep balls all longer than Dak's, and nobody mentioned it. That weekend Dak threw 24 of 39 (61.5%) for 271 yards, 6.9 Yds/Att, for a 99.4 Passer Rating, while Brock threw 19 of 27 (70.4%, his 7th(!) consecutive game with 70+% Cmpl rate) for 368 yds (that's 136% of Dak's yardage but from less than 70% of Dak's attempts), 13.6 Yds/Att (essentially DOUBLE Dak's efficiency) for a 122.1 Passer Rating. I was so heartbroken over his loss to the eagles in the championship due to an elbow injury. I honestly thought they'd win if not for that incident. I'm rooting for the kid, he's doing amazing for his first official starting season. And I can see him going on to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in time.

Purdy has the right throwing mechanics and good vision. You notice that his passes have a nice arc so that they arrive softly into the receiver's hands and often in stride. Perhaps not another Brady, but rejection does seem to be a good motivator. I'm a fan. Also glad to see Kyle calling better plays lately.
I love watching his game because he is a smart QB with good accuracy. Not just one of these overly athletic scramblers but a really good fundementals QB.

Dolphin fan coming in peace. Just wanted to check out Brock Purdy and see how good he was. I thought this video showed me alot. 1. I learned Purdy is great 2. He suffers from alot of the same narratives as Tua. 3. If people believe that Tua cant be MVP because of who hes playing with, then Purdy definitely cant. Now Purdy is fantastic but he does seem to rely a little on his weapons just killing your defense. For the most part, it seems likeb his offensive line is one of the best in the league and add that in with the best group of weapons in the league, purdy has the platform to elevate the offense to one of the best all time. Jaguars/Vikings fan here with mathematical proof that BP is the MVP. V=Q/C, where V=value, Q=quality, and C=cost. Q=P+Ch, where P is performance measured by passer rating, QBR, W/L record, etc. and Ch is character measured by leadership, intelligence, judgment, work ethic, commitment, courage, role model, etc. C=Salary (BP had the 2nd lowest QB salary of 23-24) + Opportunity cost (measured as the players not drafted by the 49ers because they drafted BP, since BP was the last pick of the draft his Opportunity cost = 0.) Thus, V=#1P + #1Ch/2nd lowest salary + 0. Not only is BP the MVP, he is the MVP by an order of magnitude (x10) and maybe 2 orders of magnitude (X100). QED.
The same offense with a BETTER line with Garoppolo, and the difference is that on any play, he can pick up 50 yards or a touchdown, or both. Garoppolo could never start in his endzone and get us to the 50 on one play. *Never*. Of course his teammates are great. So were Jimmy G's. And he did nothing with them comparatively. He’s hella good. He’s smart, efficient, accurate, and poised. And his best quality may be that he only seems to make mistakes once, after that he learns from them and teams are constantly adjusting to him trying to shut him down and can’t. He deserves the MVP
Yeah, he's maybe surrounded by great talent, but aside from CMC and Big Trent, every one of those players were drafted and coached to perform at that level. Aiyuk, Kittle, Deebo, and Jennings all drafts from Lynch and Shanahan. Those weapons are what they are because of the work they've put it and Purdy is no different!
These would be crazy highlights no matter who the QB was. Dead accurate and smart with the ball. Stone cold too before, during, and after every single game.
This is just a Deebo/Kittle highlight reel with maybe two deep throws that weren’t wide open receivers. Purdy has great foot work and makes great reads, but he isn’t anything special. Put him on the Patriots and he goes 7-10
Good highlight reel. I’d put the running play against the eagles where he broke two tackles and dropped the shoulder on the third tackler. And the play too Aiyuk against the Seahawks where he threw into quadruple coverage for a TD.
Okay Trent Williams I turned on the tape and all I see is wide open receivers on zone beaters; a bunch of YAC on screens/check downs. Both of these which are setup by rpo/play action which there’s not one back in the league that opens up the field more than Cmac. I understand Brock’s doing everything he can, but the 49ers are first in yards after catch this season. The field is so wide with the talent around him. The 49ers are literally the avengers when healthy. “He makes good decisions” isn’t a valid argument. Like Peyton Manning said the greats aren’t always looking to the sideline every play relying on coach. CJ Stroud beats him in every stat that matters but has 5 less tds with way worse receivers, and doesn’t have Kyle Shanahan to play quarterback for him. The 49ers are 17th in the nfl in yac percentage. At 47.8% Purdy has only 14.4% of passes behind the line of scrimmage this year, there’s only 5 qbs who have less than him and dak isn’t one of them. Go watch film on the bucs, jaguars and Seahawks game if you want to see what he actually does. Cj stroud has 88 pass attempts more than purdy. Cj stroud axtually only beats purdy by yards rn, and if you made the attempts even essentially cj stroud has thrown 3 games more worth of passes. 49ers fans don’t need to sit and tell you their opinion you can get the opinion from former quarterbacks in the league . Watch Kurt warners film breakdown on Brock purdy , chase daniels film he thinks purdy is a top 3 qb rn, Kurt benkert a very intelligent guy was a backup qb for several years understands a defense in and out. Has extremely high praise for Brock purdy and again has him as his top 3. Anyone who has played qb understands how purdy is playing ( except cam lol, idk what he’s watching ) and has him as a top3. They’ve all watched all 13 games of his film though, if all you’ve watched is the eagles game and highlights from the year you’re not even getting close to the full picture.
If purdy had the amount of attempts dak and stroud have he would have 30+ tds, he would already be at 4,300 passing yards. But to go back to what you said about cj stroud being better than purdy in ever stat… purdy leads qbr, passer rating , ypa (9.9) tied for the best in 67 years, yards in air hes second , deep ball percentage #1 at 63.5%, next closest is stroud at 55.8%. Has the highest epa of any qb this year he’s at .38 which is extremely high compared to daks .26, the highest cpoe, top 5 in lowest pick %. He only has 160 more yac yards than cj stroud as well. If purdy continues to do well he will break rodgers all time passer rating record this year, as of now he’s on pace to finish 3rd all time. Purdy leads in percentage has a 70.2 completion percentage, also purdy has the most passes over 40+ yards in the nfl. I get where you’re coming from with stroud and I think 8 games into the season you could for sure say him . But the week after he did great against the bengals he came back and threw 3 picks and lost a fumble , then he bounced back for 2 games and then threw for 94 yards against the jets last week. The way they tend to do mvp is how you finish the year and the whole body of work. To put it in perspective stroud has 7 games under a 90 passer rating, purdy has 3. Stroud has 1 game over a 120 passer rating , purdy has 6. Lastly the 49ers have the third highest strength of schedule, the Texans have the 31st. Again I love stroud and personally I think he will win mvp next year I expect him to take a leap. But to say he’s out performed purdy statistically this year is ludacris. He should be in the voting but right now it’s dak vs purdy for the mvp. Based on statistics eye test etc. you name it.

Purdy has the right throwing mechanics and good vision. You notice that his passes have a nice arc so that they arrive softly into the receiver's hands and often in stride. Perhaps not another Brady, but rejection does seem to be a good motivator. I'm a fan. Also glad to see Kyle calling better plays lately.

Now Purdy is fantastic but he does seem to rely a little on his weapons just killing your defense. For the most part, it seems likeb his offensive line is one of the best in the league and add that in with the best group of weapons in the league, purdy has the platform to elevate the offense to one of the best all time. Q=P+Ch, where P is performance measured by passer rating, QBR, W/L record, etc. and Ch is character measured by leadership, intelligence, judgment, work ethic, commitment, courage, role model, etc. C=Salary (BP had the 2nd lowest QB salary of 23-24) + Opportunity cost (measured as the players not drafted by the 49ers because they drafted BP, since BP was the last pick of the draft his Opportunity cost = 0.) Okay Trent Williams I turned on the tape and all I see is wide open receivers on zone beaters; a bunch of YAC on screens/check downs. Both of these which are setup by rpo/play action which there’s not one back in the league that opens up the field more than Cmac. I understand Brock’s doing everything he can, but the 49ers are first in yards after catch this season. The field is so wide with the talent around him. The 49ers are literally the avengers when healthy. “He makes good decisions” isn’t a valid argument. Like Peyton Manning said the greats aren’t always looking to the sideline every play relying on coach. CJ Stroud beats him in every stat that matters but has 5 less tds with way worse receivers, and doesn’t have Kyle Shanahan to play quarterback for him. He’s literally first in the league in passing yards and is maybe top 3 like for real. Would a 49ers fan really sit here and tell me they think Brock Purdy is a top 3 talent? I’m not a Brock hater but, In a down year for qbs why not give it to the most valuable player for once. The 49ers are 17th in the nfl in yac percentage. At 47.8%
Purdy has only 14.4% of passes behind the line of scrimmage this year, there’s only 5 qbs who have less than him and dak isn’t one of them.
Its like the only game you watched is the eagles one, which is completely different than the rest of the season hs been. Go watch film on the bucs, jaguars and Seahawks game if you want to see what he actually does.

Cj stroud axtually only beats purdy by yards rn, and if you made the attempts even essentially cj stroud has thrown 3 games more worth of passes.
49ers fans don’t need to sit and tell you their opinion you can get the opinion from former quarterbacks in the league . Watch Kurt warners film breakdown on Brock purdy , chase daniels film he thinks purdy is a top 3 qb rn, Kurt benkert a very intelligent guy was a backup qb for several years understands a defense in and out. Has extremely high praise for Brock purdy and again has him as his top 3. Anyone who has played qb understands how purdy is playing ( except cam lol, idk what he’s watching ) and has him as a top3.
They’ve all watched all 13 games of his film though, if all you’ve watched is the eagles game and highlights from the year you’re not even getting close to the full picture.
If purdy had the amount of attempts dak and stroud have he would have 30+ tds, he would already be at 4,300 passing yards.
But to go back to what you said about cj stroud being better than purdy in ever stat… purdy leads qbr, passer rating , ypa (9.9) tied for the best in 67 years, yards in air hes second , deep ball percentage #1 at 63.5%, next closest is stroud at 55.8%. Has the highest epa of any qb this year he’s at .38 which is extremely high compared to daks .26, the highest cpoe, top 5 in lowest pick %. He only has 160 more yac yards than cj stroud as well. If purdy continues to do well he will break rodgers all time passer rating record this year, as of now he’s on pace to finish 3rd all time.
Purdy leads in percentage has a 70.2 completion percentage, also purdy has the most passes over 40+ yards in the nfl.
I get where you’re coming from with stroud and I think 8 games into the season you could for sure say him . But the week after he did great against the bengals he came back and threw 3 picks and lost a fumble , then he bounced back for 2 games and then threw for 94 yards against the jets last week. The way they tend to do mvp is how you finish the year and the whole body of work. To put it in perspective stroud has 7 games under a 90 passer rating, purdy has 3. Stroud has 1 game over a 120 passer rating , purdy has 6.
Lastly the 49ers have the third highest strength of schedule, the Texans have the 31st.
Again I love stroud and personally I think he will win mvp next year I expect him to take a leap. But to say he’s out performed purdy statistically this year is ludacris. He should be in the voting but right now it’s dak vs purdy for the mvp. Based on statistics eye test etc. you name it.
