MORE INFO: On May 1, CDC officials boarded Margaritaville at Sea, a Jimmy-Buffet-themed ship that welcomes 1,680 passengers, for an unexpected health inspection.The Vessel Sanitation Program officials gave the ship a failing grade. During the visit, they noted 65 issues on the ship, which resulted in an 83-point score. A score of 86 is needed to pass. - Business Insider

I went on this ship back in Aug, 2023. I got onboard around 530. Got me 8 beers, got trashed. I didn't get off the ship at Freeport, been there done that. I stayed on board, bought a bunch more booze and got drunk again. 😂. I won some kind of contest later that night and the cruise director bought me 3 margaritas. So, yeah, it's a booze cruise for sure. 😂
The new ship, Islander, will have a 15 drink a day limit, just like Carnival.

@@PrimRoseLane I suspect they're smelling vape as opposed to weed. I watched another cruise channel (Ben & his mate) who were aboard a newer, higher-end cruise ship who said the odor of weed was often apparent and I don't think people are walking around toking on joints.

I have sailed twice on the ship: once when it was the Classica and once as MAS Paradise. There are TEN lovely cabins with amazing balconies on this ship. It’s a good ship to see if you would get sea sick or not because it only goes about 75 miles and you can hardly tell you are moving. We had wonderful meals in the main dining room which was better than the buffet. We swam with the pigs 🐷 twice - such a memorable experience. Give it a go! 🚢🚢🚢🚢🚢
Been on it 5 times, going again this summer. Rooms dont have to be big or updated becausethey sre for sleeping only. 75 bucks for 2 days is well worth the money.

Yes, why not. I wouldn’t expect much for $75. A lot of people take this ship as a means of transport to Grand Bahamas, spend a week at a resort there, then take Margaritaville at sea back to Florida. I’m interested in seeing what their “new” ship is going to offer this summer and what they learned from their first ship
From what i’ve seen, the new ship is a referb of an older carnival ship. Should be an interesting step up (hopefully)
We did see a lot of people get off in the bahamas, from that standpoint i get it!

I've been on this cruise, for the money, it was fantastic. A lot in this video is overblown and played up. Is it perfect, no, but for a quick getaway weekend, it was awesome. Staff was amazing, drinks were good,food was better than other, and everyone just had so much fun. I mean, what do you think you're going to get for under a $100. It was FUN! You blow $100 at the bar on a night out at home... Look at it for what it is and just have fun.
Or you could on on a cheap RCL ship or Carnival ship that’s leagues above for a 3 night with better ports, better food and entertainment for like 300$. Id do that personally
Its not just $75 like the guy says, not even just $100, your fare is cheap however the taxes, port fees, and expenses is ranged around $110 per person in top of the fare, also a $18 gratuity and $15 fuel surcharge, each per person per day added to your onboard acct. oh and not forget the $57 valet parking which is the only option at moment because its inside the port. I just got off the ship, two adults and a child, final bill was $813. It’s a rip off. this guy is spot on.

He got a porthole cabin (not an oceanview with a full window) and complained about the view. I don't think cruising is his strong point. Should probably stick to theme parks.

My husband and I had fun on Margaritaville at sea back in November 2022..we didn't eat the buffett but the food was great at the Steakhouse and the main dining room. We had fun at sail away party and salsa dancing at night. We also had fun in Freeport Bahamas..we did the day pass at Taino Beach resort and had a fun beach and pool day and the Bahamian food we ate at the restaurant at the resort was amazing. We cruise often on other cruise lines and tried Margaritaville at Sea and enjoyed it...would I go back on it? Likely no but we did enjoy it. Oh and the bed on Margaritaville was the most comfy bed than all the other cruise lines we've been on.
We probably were on the same ship. My day 11/2. It rocked!

I was on this ship with the Paradise Bahamas Line back in 2018 and my daughter and I had a great time. Sorry that it has gotten so run down, I would definitely NOT go back on it now. Thanks for touring it though. :D
For $75 you get what you pay for, a room on a ship and a trip to Freeport. I’m sorry you couldn’t enjoy yourself, you should do lifetime drama movies. I’m sure your followers paid for it as well, just tacky. Could have showed the positive to help people on a small budget take a cruise. 😢

You'd have to be a REAL party animal to appreciate this ship. I probably would have been sold on it 50+ years ago in my late teens and early 20's, when I WAS more of a party animal but I'm waaayyy past that now. Even Carnival and Virgin are too eccentric for me, now.

Went in March and had a completely different experience. Going back in June and looking forward to it. Room was clean, buffet and main dining was on par with Carnival. Pizza was really good too. Lol The two main shows were both amazing, especially the one with the live band.
It failed plenty of health inspections, so it might be similar to a foodtruck in a third world country.

I called them to ask about hidden fees. A $75 cruise ended up being around $500 with taxes, port charges, required billed tips, parking at the port. It was for 1 person. It felt bad paying all those charges for just two nights, so I passed. I’ve never seen the shops at the port closed, there’s A Harley Davidson, wow.
There was a tiny cruise ship with an above ground pool with glass walls that I loved going on, really enjoyed that one out of there once.
To be fair, wouldn't those hidden fees be applicable to all/most cruises?

My amount when I called and asked for the details did include an excursion to swim with the pigs in Eleuthera, one of the day trips. That can easily be cancelled last minute though, lack of communication there. I really want to see them.
As for getting your money's worth via cheeseburgers, they aren't that good to begin with at the Margaritaville restaurant. They are priced like that because of the great atmosphere, not the quality of the burgers. The erupting margaritas volcano and live music with the big screen videos make the not-so-great overpriced burgers worthwhile.

Thank you so much for this, I was about to book a weekend on this ship as I am a Veteran and was offered a "Free" Cruise for 2. After taxes though, an "ocean View" room was 219 per person. I am so glad I saw this before booking!
I've been on the ship twice, loved it both time. I have cruised most major cruiselines. Don't knock it till you try it. I also use the hero's sail free, and I'm going on there newer ship coming out it June. The staff is amazing and the steak house is excellent. I will go on this ship again and again. It is cheaper than a weekend in Orlando
I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise a few weeks ago. We did see this ship as we pulled in to Grand Bahama island.
I've been on 12 cruises over my life. I have been on this ship twice, and we are going on the Islander in July. It is what you make it. I would absouluty do this ship again, and will. Rather be on an old cruise ship, than drop twice as much to spend the same time in Orlando. But hey, you do you!

Please keep in mind MAS has a new (refurbished) Spirit Class ship sailing from Tampa starting June 14th! it will be much more aligned with the Margaritaville Brand! The prices also reflect that!

No. My daughter and I just went to one of his restaurants for the first time on Saturday in Myrtle Beach SC. We really enjoyed the food and the service was exceptional.
As a faithful "Parrothead" since the 1970s, it's disappointing to see the Margaritaville brand treated in this manner, with a sub par cruise line literally trying to stay afloat by offering cheap, poorly reviewed cruises. People have been wondering if the brand and concept will be sustainable now that Jimmy is gone, since his music and concert tours fueled other divisions of the Buffett empire. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but it seems like maybe the cruise partnership wasn't the best idea. I am looking forward to visiting Margaritaville Island in San Diego if it ever opens. Seems like the perfect place for a Margaritaville-themed resort, but the pandemic, as well as demands from the California Coastal Commission, have seriously delayed the project. Fins up, Parrotheads!
I can't wait for your next challenge video where you take on this cruise AGAIN without a watch, and you have to ask everyone what time it is until someone says "its 5 o clock somewhere" or you lose.

The main thing that puts me off cruises is the ridiculous hostility towards cannabis, taken to ludicrous extremes by a lot of cruise lines. Margaritaville seems to be the one and only cruise line that seems to be getting it right. I'd definitely consider a cruise if I knew I wasn't going to be hassled with crap like urang-utans sniffing around your cabin while you're at the bar and reporting shit like sightings of vape pens and 'smells' resulting in people being ejected etc.
Nooooo I think after the hidden fees your time would be better spent elsewhere but glad you went so we could be entertained by your video!

The hotels aren't high end, they are what a budget guests think would be high end.
Decided a long time ago that I won't be taking any Margaritaville cruises but I do enjoy watching reviews about it, hoping someone will convince me to give it a try 🤷🏽♀️.
I made it to the end of the video. And I enjoyed the video. I could see myself as a person of 25 taking that two day cruise and having a hell of a good time and all that stuff that was wrong you matter once the drink started to slow.
I'm good watching you take it on. I'd be terrified of getting food poisoning or sinking. Likely only if I were taking on a challenge to try the WORST cruise possible for laughs. I'd bring an inflatable raft and granola bars in my luggage. LOL
Props for taking the hit for the rest of us lol. Not only would the food make me deathly ill, but the certain use of a particular plant would have made the whole experience unbearable. 😬
😂😂😂 I taught about it but now that I've seen a few videos about this ship, I don't think I want to waste my time nor $$$ to only go to a port where nothing is there, I can stay home for all that.That room I would need 3 bottles of Lysol spray before I could even sit on that bed. “Somehow had more capacity at 3300.” So most cabins in the titanic had far more simple and smaller accommodations then what is on the margaritaville ship. For example almost no cabins besides the best of the 1st class cabins had their own bathroom. Additionally the lowest class cabins like the 3rd class essentially were small rooms with bunkbeds in a configuration similar to old naval ships. This means you basically have 4 beds in a cramped single cabin in a space that’s basically smaller than even the interior rooms. As such you could get far more rooms in a smaller space with more beds thus allowing for more guests. If anyone was curious.

We went on in March & had a great experience. Our room was fine, food was good & staff was fantastic. It's definitely a "booze cruise" type ship, you're not getting luxury anything.

This is one of the best cruise review videos that I have ever seen.....and I watched it because I have seen several from this same ship from different channels. Best one so far. You both seem like fun dudes. $75 is a cheap price for that much fun.....but you did have to share a bed, right? lol.
Anyway, I loved the way you were staying positive but at the same time, pointed out the flaws. The many flaws. I have thought about booking a cruise on this with my son lol. I live in Indiana, obviously it will cost more than $75, but still, expectations are important and what a better way to find out than this.

There is a new Margaritaville hotel on Ft. Myers Beach. For just one day, wth our dogs, it would be 260.00 plus tax for the room, 100.00 for the dogs, 35.00 for the day to park, another 100.00 service fee. And that doe not include any overpriced food. No thank you! 500.00 for an overnight stay? I'll take the cruise any day! I hope the hotel fails. I really think it will. People here do not have the resources to pay those big bucks, especially after Hurricane Ian decimated the entire beach. Corporate greed on display!
