@@herdpm1 You should look up the best rated computer store specialized in building PCs closest to you and tell them what you want. I'm sure they'll help putting together the best setup if you got the money.

I was a jet engine mech on the F4E while in the USAF (1974-1977), even had a small scar on my head where I was attacked by a spoiler that jumped out at me. Brings back many memories, not all good, damn that hell hole beneath the engine.

Hi, I find DCS fascinating, unfortunately my free time is very limited to get into the simulator. The more I enjoy these videos of the community.
Hey man, if you want to get into DCS with limited free time you should check out some of the FC3 models as they have less buttons and are quite easy to learn, though it all depends on just how little free time you have.

My father was a hydraulic mechanic for the F-4J Phantom II squadron Fighting Falcons (VF-96) aboard the U.S.S Constellation (CV-64) during Vietnam, apparently the first and only squadron to have an ACE Phantom pilots. (Lieutenant Duke Cunningham and Lieutenant j.g. William P. Driscoll of VF-96 scored their aerial victories becoming the only US Navy aces of the war.) I loved listening to his stories about his service aboard that carrier. Ever since I've been head over heels in LOVE with the beautiful aircraft. This means so much to me, thank you!

Don't forget Capt. Steve Ritchie when he downed two MiGs with three missiles in only 1 minute, 29 seconds. I have a framed and autographed picture of him standing next to his F-4J, amongst some of the militaria I've collected over the years..
@@SydneyRadio2UE : Steve Ritchie was a USAF pilot, not a USN one, so he wouldn’t have flown the Navy F-4J, but the Air Force F-4E.

Ok, you got me! Custom cockpit and the lot, I do believe we have a very nice Phantom while HB is fine-tuning his own plane!

I doubt we'll get a vietnam map in the next 5 years. Way too PC-demanding.

Cold start Procedure (found out by trial and error):
1. ground power
2. connect ground air
3. apply ground air
4. left & right generator both on Ext (right horizontal panel)
5. booster pumps left & right (left horizontal panel behind throttle)
6. Left Engine Master Switch On (left horizontal panel on the right of the throttle)
7. Engine Start selector to the Left (same panel), wait for the engine to spool up
8. request again to Apply ground air
9. Right Engine Master Switch On (left horizontal panel on the right of the throttle)
10. Engine Start selector to the Right (same panel), wait for the engine to spool up
11. Set both generator switches to On
12. disconnect ground air & power
13. Set Engine Start selector to Neutral
Good to go!

As a kid, I played a jet fighter game on my Apple 2C. Simple line drawings, slow to react to input. This game is absolutely ASTONISHING to watch. Amazing tech!

I absolutely the Phantom II! It's my phavourite jet aircraft and also that was really cool showing the F-4K variant used by the Royal Navy, which is pretty interesting to learn about when I was searching the other countries who operated the Phantom II, also great video!

This looks amazing. I wish Eagle would work with VSN to integrate this into their F-4 product. I am so impressed you got the bridle working. Carrier operations would make the F-4 so much more interesting.
Eagle? You mean eagle dynamics? They aren't making an F-4.. hearblur is and its going to be miles.. and miles... and miles ahead of this amazing mod in every way..

My father's favorite bird to fly in. He was a WSO in the Air Force and got me fall in love with the Phantom.
Maybe its old memories of janes usnf, or many similar games of the time, but this interests me way more than the strike eagle or mirages revently in the dcs news. Cant wait!

Nice video however US navy phantoms didn't normally fly with wing fuel tanks they used the center line tank.

If I may add, I'm pretty sure Air Force F-4s used to fly with wing wing tanks and kept the centerline pylon for ordnance. 😅🤷♂️

I've been waiting for the Phantom for two decades. Can't wait for the HB, but I downloaded this as soon as I heard about it from GS! Dang, I got some work to do to tame this Rhino! First mission I converted my Phantom into a Phrisbee in no time flat!. Thank you Martin-Baker!
Spino just mentioned last night that there has been an update to fix the issue with no sidewinder tone so you may need to reload the mod

2:35 I don't know what version of the F-4 that is but, I don't know of any version that DIDN'T have just a refueling probe on the starboard side of the cockpit. Did the C's have refueling ports on the Turtleback?
USAF F-4C,D,E and G had the receptacle for the flying boom. USN F-4s used the probe and drogue.
