Did you do the swap on both the differentials or just the rear ?

Thanks for the update , can’t wait to see your next mods as you mentioned. The 6.4 intake manifold should work nicely as our 5.7 one is quite restrictive.
I thought those gears would have made a bigger difference also but you never know till you try I guess .

I thought they would too but oh well i guess. Helped a ton of Durango guys save money by me being the test dummy on this. Yeah I’m excited to see what kind of change the intake manifold, tb and cai will make

Problem with messing around regarding gears is when it shifts going down the 1/4 mile track. The Ford Taurus SHO (2012 - current) is a perfect example - the SHO's with the added "Performance Package" which has steeper gears than a regular SHO was actually slower in the 1/4 mile because the Performance Pack would shift from 3rd to 4th right before the 1/4 mile finish resulting in a slower ET. The regular SHO would still be pulling in 3rd gear through the finish resulting in a faster time. Just food-for-thought.

The extra shifts are slowing it down. Weight reduction on the vehicle will make the most difference. But that’s just a general statement.

That’s tragic man! I had big hopes for those bad boys!
Keep pushing it and I pray for you that those gears eventually get their mind right.
You said it and I would agree, that thing falls on its face when it hits 5th gear. Keep trying to tweak the PCM/TCM tune.

It is tragic lol, I was looking forward to big gains with them. I think of I had your mods it would make a better difference. Maybe by end of next year ill be there

I've done an extreme version of this test with 4LO and the front drive shaft pulled thinking it would net massive acceleration increases. It actually accelerated the same but total time was slower because there were 2-3 times more shifts 0-60. Ideally if you pulled 10k behind you, you'd see the difference since you have more torque.

Also if you want faster speeds you need a higher stall and lower gearing. Less shifts the better unless you have something stupid fast like a dog box tranny.

Yeah well bad idea with a 2.72 case and a 4.71 1st , 3.16 2nd 2.10 3rd 1.67 4th 1.28 5th all your gears would be multiplied by 2.72 even 6th would be almost as deep as 3rd at 2.72 making 6th top out at like 60 at 5500 plus rpm even your OD gears would top out at like 5k plus at 80 mph you would just be bumping the top of each gear in a second until you hit od then you'd max out at 80 ish . I have an old Atlas 1.5 low range case from a go fast buggy part out and I have a 65rfe in my 13 RT Durango there are no gear options for the Durango that go past 3.70 and no way to regear the axles with deeper ring and pinion I'm actually contemplating swapping out the AWD case for the Atlas it would essentially give me similar gearing as swapping to a set of 4.88 gears the 65tfe only has a 3.00 first 1.67 2nd 3rd is useless at only 1.50 it's to close to 1.67 to be useful 4th would be 1.5 and the od gears would ne about 1.15 and 1.002 making them able to go 130+ in 5th of and about 160 in 6th od before running out of rpm. Your experiment is bad because of the mix of a super deep trans gearing and a pretty damn deep case gearing equaling rock Crawler hearing you might get speeds on 49s with your choice in final drives 😅

You should try manual shifts and hold the gears to redline.

Nothing noticeable, overall with all my mods mpg improved. I got up to 26mpg on a 60 mile highway trio before
