A Once Majestic Tree

This fragment of a once majestic tree stands in the neighbor's yard. Because of its great size and some rot, it was becoming a hazard.
Because of its great girth, it would be hazardous to continue without a crane as the pieces they were lowering were many hundreds of pounds.
The arborist says the trunk is still alive and is solid so it should stand safely for a hundred years or more.
At one point, you can see a flying squirrel on top of the trunk. The time laps did not catch it getting away, but it gave the crew a chuckle.
