    Great video many thanks. Do you happen to know where the rear hatch interior light switch is. My rear interior light randomly comes on when rear hatch is opened or not. Haven't found the plunger door switch as yet. Cheers from old George

    hi there I've lifted my roof up ,took motors off and they work ,now iam trying to lower the roof of the timbers and the rear hinge bolts done line up anymore, thanks again Steven

      There should be a long locating bolt the guides the roof back down if that's come out you will need to pull roof back ...if you have straps put them on front of roof and try pull back into place

    • @stevencooper3477

      @ukboy6303 the long locating 1 is still through but the other bolts doesn't come through the roof and is keeping the roof up the height of the bolt mate

    @ 2.26 you say that you can put 12v to the red and blue which powers the 2 motors.
    what polarity goes to which wire? these wires are fed from the connector at the roof module, together with 2 other wires, Black & green.
    Does 12v on the red & blue power the motors UP? and therefore the black & green power the motors to close?
    I want to try powering-up the motors at the module plug to check before I have the hassle of removing the roof lining.

    Thanks for the vid.
    Mine makes all the right noises , handbrake light bleeping etc but won’t budge. It hasn’t been open for about a year so might be stuck, I did run a card round it but made no difference. I also put the rock n roll mattress up there before closing last time, can that have an affect on this - is there a safety switch up there that may of been flicked by mattress ?
    Where abouts in Sussex are you and would you have a ball park price for repair ?

      If just changing motors just the rear two but it only lifts just enough to get your hand in there and undo the motors because the front is locked down

    I just bought a bongo and the roof won't open. How do I know if it's a motor issue? When I press the button it bleeps and there's a buzzing noise underneath the van. I've got under there but couldn't tell exactly what was buzzing. Thankyou

    • @ukboy6303

      Bit hard without seeing but you should have van running handbrake up make sure that the handbrake light is on the dash then press the open button sometimes the open button gets dusty try rocking it open and close a few times see if that helps .. sometimes roofs don't open straight away if they've been closed for a long time...it's just the build up of dust on the switches .. also run a credit card around the rubber seal on the outside of the roof..

    Hi I just bought 2 new motors but given up trying to do this myself very quickly. How much do you charge to fit the motors & where are you based? I am in North Wales.

      @@ukboy6303 I changed the motors today but I messed up, I forgot to re attach the 4 bolts from the hinge at the back and tried to raise the roof. The whole roof moved forward a bit when I tried to put it up. Need to figure out a way to re-attach the hinges at the back now. It's stressful owning a Bongo. :)

    Hi I can only get the back of my roof up about 4 inches I have taken off all the copper nuts I can see leaving on the ones for the struts. The front third of the roof is solid and wont move an inch am I missing something?

    • @ukboy6303
      @ukboy6303  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rear of the roof will only lift up about a few inches but it's enough to get the motors out. I stuck a piece of wood under the rear of the roof so I could work with two hands to release the motors

    Are all the interior panels easy to remove? Any tips plse

    • @David-bl1bt
      @David-bl1bt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.. where there is no visible securing screws the panels are held by spring clips, Just give the panels a good yank at the corner then work your way around.
      The door cards have plastic clips which are usually brittle with age and break when pulled out. Replacements are available on ebay.

    great video, could do with a bit of help with fixing mine, the controller box, it that behind the lower panel the middle panel or is it tucked in the roof area?

    • @ukboy6303
      @ukboy6303  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's on the driver's side at the rear behind the lights the rear lights you will see the vent in the panel it's just inside there

      @@mattdrain power the Motors up via the cable in the roof like in video if the Motors work then its probably the control box make sure there's a Live going to the control box. Before you do this you have checked the handbrake switch is working properly and you're getting the beeping.

      A usefull video, thanks for sharing your experience.👍
      You mention a way to test the motors by powering the red & blue wires. I presume this will elevate the roof? So how do I power it down?
      Also is there access these wires without removing the roof trim? I.e. are they accessible behind the lower driver side rear trim?... Or can the motors be tested at the plug on the module?
      I guess it would be wise to check the fuse first, are you able to advise which one it is as I don't have a diagram. Are there any secondary fuses eg. at the control module or in the feed to each motor?
