      a chetah cant hunt in freefall. peregrine falcons can dive on command for immpossible to dodge strikes at massive velocities.

    • @KuntaKinteToby
      @KuntaKinteToby 6 ปีที่แล้ว +57

      Yea but a Peregrine Falcon dives faster than the theoretical maximum impact velocity, its such a well designed bird it can achieve flight physics we still cannot.

      What the hell is a "theoretical maximum impact velocity"???

    • @turboshaft1959
      @turboshaft1959 6 ปีที่แล้ว +64

      Sergei Gridnev hes probably talking about terminal velocity. The terminal velocity is the falling velocity at wich the gravitational acceleration equals the deceleration due to air resistance. So its the fastest possible free fall speed in air. It is different for every object, and the falcons terminal velocity is obviously higher than the humans.

Then they would fly up the mountain's chasm & out over the deposit slope... & do it again!! Neat video. Fun. Lady is THE OG of fast flying. We base our wing designs on her, particularly the military winged aircraft with wings that sweep back for speed.

  • @wolfy9005
    @wolfy9005 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Comparing objects based on speed isn't really fair, otherwise the fastest wheeled vehicle is in the 1200km/h+ range, and the fastest "aircraft"(with human inside) is in the 30,000km/h+ range....then you go to the next step of power, and humans win outright.
    In terms of power:weight and complexity, the bird will win for a very long time to come.

    if your having a race in the sky, why go in the stable position? it would be much faster to go head down, and they even have a pilot chute deployed that would slow them down even more! they weren't even trying!

    Guys its because peregrine falcons can do the 200 mph dive anytime they wanted to (like without any human interference or advance technology, only pure evolution). A fighter plane or jet, I forgot what kind of aircraft it was, is designed based on the peregrine falcon.

    If you watch really carefully as the bird's hood is removed, you can actually see what the bird is thinking... "What the F am I doing all the way up here? "

    Skydiving is a lot more than knowing what to pull and when to pull it, every movement does something and it’s a long process to learn how to be stable in free fall without spinning out of control. Most people think it’s as simple as falling but as a skydiver I can say that’s far from the truth, everything from being stable in free fall to learning how to use the parachute correctly takes lots of training and plenty of hours nothing you could learn in a single day, to be licensed to skydive you’ve got to have 25 jumps and go through an extensive training program that takes usually months of training.
