This is amazing. I wonder if when African Americans were in slavery if when they went to church it was a place the Holy Spirit led them into freedom first by action threw dancing and singing and worshiping and than literally into their actual freedom from slavery.

We were MADE Christians, we didn't have a choice, and we were forced to give up our own heritage including our own faith and language and even our original names. Christianity left a generational trauma on our people so no they didn't enjoy it. We mixed our own spirituality with Christianity but today most people don't bother to learn anything and we're so conditioned most people are afraid of anything not Christian.

But I don't think it has to do with color I believe it has to do with RELATIONSHIP! Your relationship with God is the foundation of worship!

And though we have a state church, we have clear laws on prosyletising (evangelism/preachy) and not given as liberal an outlet on national tv to be this open about faith on a "talk show". Here, it's confined to one of the "religious channels" or the odd program. However, most programs here on our television are geared towards proving science and discrediting "faiths" or people of etc. Lastly, most of our tv is influenced by US tv anyways! @Noosh101 is actually correct. Although, there are some recent changes that are in some ways making both harder and easier to be able to share faith etc. on "mainstream" media outlets. #justsaying
I might add, although there are some state churches that are charismatic, the High church (CofE - Westminster etc) are not and are rather very traditional. This is not to say we don't have so many churches etc. What Noosh was trying to address is Christianity being as liberally expressed on mainstream media without consequence or backlash.

The music was going, got louder and louder and all of a sudden, i was dancing. Everything around me was blurred and muffled and i was filled with so much light and joy. Like it was definitely an out of body experience as it was in body. Ended up slain in the spirit on the floor. Come to find out later, my mom was caught in the spirit at the same exact time as me. Ive never seen her in the spirit ever in my life. Even though i still technically havent, im glad i shared that feeling with my mom. ♥️
I feel like this was an innocent dance so i don't mind it... but when the Holy Spirit hits you ... you just let it take over and you just put your hands up and even if you don't know the words , you feel the anointing , you feel the love, you feel God move through everybody just by the way everybody is so humbled and thanking him in a way that is for themselves and for him the best way possible
I was raised apostolic but grew up in a non denominational church. We were raised with grandparents as pastors and we praised without the music Tamera is talking about. We had it sometimes but we were a hand clapping foot stomping church. When my dad became a pastor his church was non denominational but we were still hand clapping foot stomping (but we did have musicians) I speak in tongues, dance, been slain in the spirit, I've seen demons cast out..I am also a talker during the sermon so I feel Tamera on that part....I have a shout (dance) as well.
